Week 4 in the Southside region was another week that lacked close games. There was only one game within one score, as comfort was the flavor of the week for the winners. Here's the rundown of the action.

Altavista 56, Galax 7
Mr. Everything, Juan Thornhill of Altavista, rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns, while tossing a touchdown, in the 56-7 win over Galax. The Colonels were up 21-0 after one quarter and also got scores on an interception return and a point return.

Nelson 44, Hargrave 25
Nelson picked up win No. 2 on the year with a comfortable win over Hargrave. The Governors ran the ball for 379 yards on 54 carries, manhandling the hosts.

Dan River 38, Martinsville 13
A tough, fairly even first quarter made way for a second quarter where two Dan River touchdowns gave the Wildcats enough separation in a 38-13 win. Malcolm Ware had 121 rushing yards and he scored two touchdowns to move the Wildcats to .500 at 2-2. Martinsville has yet to win a game this season.
