Three significant players are switching schools for the New Year of 2016, two returning to the Peninsula District.

Dajour Dickens, a 6-foot-11 center who plays on the AAU circuit for the Boo Williams program, is leaving the Miller School to return to the Bethel Bruins, where he spent the past two seasons. He is rated #91 overall in the country for the Class of 2017 and a four-star prospect by Rivals.com. His offer sheet includes about a dozen schools with the likes of Clemson, Old Dominion, Texas and Virginia Tech among others.

"Dajour is enrolled at Bethel and meets all eligibility requirements to compete in extra curricular activities," Bruins Head Basketball Coach Craig Brehon told VirginiaPreps.com, adding that Dickens will be able to play as soon as their next game in this Saturday's VirginiaPreps.com Classic at J.R. Tucker HS against undefeated L.C. Bird.

"We expect a smooth transition as he is familiar with our system."

Marquis Godwin, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard that also played with Boo Williams' AAU travel team on the 16-and-Under circuit this past summer, has decided to return to Virginia after transferring to the Christ School in North Carolina.

Godwin will play for the Hampton Crabbers, where he spent the past two seasons. He averaged 14 points per game for the Crabbers last year and is up to 10 scholarship offers, the latest coming from Murray State.

"We area excited to have Marquis home. He wants to contribute in any way he can to help us win," stated Hampton Head Basketball Coach Eric Brown. "We think his addition should give us a great opportunity to compete with the favorites in 5A-South."

A third player is leaving the private sector to go back to the public school scene. That's James West IV, a guard that was teammates with Godwin at Christ School in North Carolina and has decided to return to Freedom-Woodbridge. His father, James West, is Freedom's Head Coach. Howard and Norfolk State have offered the younger West.
