Here is the VirginiaPreps.Com 1st team and 2nd team 2014 Private All-State Offense

Quarterbacks

Junior Blake Bowen helped Trinity Episcopal to their 1st State championship while throwing for 35 touchdowns against eight interceptions. Bowens passed for 2753 yards while added 261 yards rushing (before sacks) with four touchdowns. He was selected Virginiapreps Private School Player of the Week twice during the season. He had five 300 yard passing games included a 341 yard six touchdown effort on the road against defending state champ Bishop Sullivan. He over 300 yards in the second meeting against Bishop Sullivan in the playoffs which is one of the reason he got the nod over last years 1st team Private All-State quarterback Blake LaRussa of Bishop Sullivan. LaRussa passed for 2317 yards and 24 touchdowns while rushing for 268 yards. While he did not put of the gaudy numbers from a year ago primarily due to the Crusaders rushing attack, LaRussa was still the top senior quarterback recruit in the Private ranks.

Athlete

Scott Bracey

The Duke University recruit was versatile rushing for 609 yards and eight touchdowns while completing 63% of his passes for 1044 yards and eight touchdown passes. He also caught 13 passes for 213 yards.

Running Backs

Bishop Sullivan running back Kevin Hicks added another dimension to the Crusaders offense gaining 1689 yards on the ground while rushing for 24 touchdowns and averaging 10.8 yards per carry. Hicks is a power runner between the tackles and he has a nose for the endzone. Atlantic Shores senior Brehon Britt was a key reason the Seahawks made the D3 playoffs. Britt carried the rock 169 times for 1405 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. Brehon also finished as the school's all time career rushing leader with career totals of 4260 yards and 59 touchdowns. He had 17 total touchdowns this season. Flint Hill senior Cameron Vaughn rounds out the 1st team Virginiapreps Private All-State running backs. Vaughn finished the year rushing for 1238 yards with 14 touchdowns while adding 15 receptions for 130 yards and a score. He finished the year with 17 total touchdowns including a fumble return and kickoff return for touchdowns. During the regular season game I covered for VirginiaPreps.Rivals.Com, Vaughn displayed outstanding break away speed and he had a knack for finding the open space. He finished that game with 208 yards on 25 carries with two touchdowns. His touchdown runs covered 25 and 86 yards.

Tight Ends

Trinity Episcopal won their 1st State championship with win over St Anne's-Belfield and senior Jack Freudenthal was a major factor in the Titans championship run. He scored all three Trinity Episcopal touchdowns while gaining a combined 192 yards in total offense finishing with 122 rushing yards and 70 receiving yards. Freudenthal was selected to the Virginiapreps.Com Private All-State team at Tight End after gaining over 1000 yards receiving on 45 receptions with 22 touchdowns. He also led the team with 451 yards rushing with an additional 10 touchdowns. Defensively, he had 14.5 tackles for loss including 8.5 sacks and two interceptions. He received moderate interest before committing to Wake Forest. Earning 2nd team honors at Tight End was Collegiate senior Strib Walker who led the Cougars with 35 receptions for 524 yards and nine touchdowns. He was selected All-Prep League Co-Offensive Player of the Year.

Wide Receivers

Receiver George Wahee stepped in for 5-star recruit Jamil Kamara and finished with 15 touchdown receptions among his 34 receptions. Wahee averaged 100 yards receiving in 10 games finishing with 1105 receiving yards. He also returned a punt and kickoff for touchdowns and he finished with six interceptions on defense. He was a threat to score every time he touched the football and he played his best against the best competition. Rivals 3-star prospect Trevion Armstrong had a breakout season for Trinity Episcopal helping the Titans to a State championship in his first year. He caught 60 passes for 925 yards and 17 touchdowns and his physical style made him difficult to bring down after he catch. Armstrong (6-foot-2, 220) often out fought his defender for big plays and he seem to make the clutch catch for first downs. He has offers from eight offers including offers from Pittsburgh, Temple, and East Carolina. Bishop O Connell receiver George Hawkins had 46 receptions for 588 yards and nine touchdowns while facing some of the top cornerbacks in the nation in the ultra tough WCAC. Hawkins was selected 1st team All-WCAC and he currently has scholarship offers from Indiana and New Hampshire. Hawkins (6-foot-3, 190) can stretch the field with his speed and his height, combine with his jumping ability, is a nightmare for opposing defenses.

Offensive Lineman

The 1st team Offensive line includes three seniors and two juniors. Benedictine senior Jack Cornett was the best offensive lineman on the Cadets title winning team. He has offers from Brown, Georgetown, and University of Pennsylvania. He also a walk on offer from William and Mary. Liberty Christian Academy always seems to produce standout lineman and Sam Isaacson continues that tradition. The big lineman (6-foot-7, 300) has a state championship ring and he is receiving interest from Richmond, Liberty, NC State, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Elon, and James Madison. He is still awaiting his 1st D1 offer. Christchurch lineman Jack Gorsline (6-foot-4, 280) helped the Seahorses to the D3 State championship game and he was selected All-ODFC. He has preferred walk-on from James Madison, Towson, Elon, and Sacred Heart. He says Coastal Carolina and Maine are close to offering. Junior Clark Yarbrough (6-foot-6, 270) may be the top lineman prospect in the Private school ranks. He has a 4-star ranking from Rivals.Com and he made the Rivals Top 200 players list. Yarbrough has over 20 D1 offers. I watched Yarbrough dominate the line of scrimmage while covering two games this year. Bishop O Connell lineman Jay Jay McCargo is a Rivals 3-star recruit and he currently spots 17 D1 offers. He was the Knights most dominant lineman and a 1st team All-WCAC lineman.

Special Teams

The two kick returners both had excellent numbers but senior Nathaniel Tyrell scored six combined touchdowns on returns while gaining 588 yards on 20 returns. Tyrell had four kickoff returns and two punt returns. Benedictine junior Donaven Tennyson had 19 returns for 481 yards while reaching the endzone three times. Tennyson is also a star receiver and his 4.4 speed landed him an offer from the University of Virginia. St Christopher's kicker Thomas Cottrell converted 7 of 11 field goals including a 46-yard field goal. He was 28 of 29 on extra points and he averaged 52 yards in his kickoffs with 14 touchbacks. Cottrell was 1st team All-Prep League. Woodberry Forest senior Liam Hedge averaged 55.9 yards per kickoff with 24 touchbacks. Hedge converted 3 of 5 field goals with a long of 40 while making 19 of 20 extra points.

2nd team Offensive Lineman

Senior Malik White (6-foot-3, 285) was a force on both sides of the ball making All-Conference of offense and defense. His dominating blocking helped Fredericksburg Christian to their 1st State championship. White is receiving interest from a number of schools including Richmond, William and Mary, Liberty, Hampton, Norfolk State, and James Madison. Junior Jake Hogge (6-foot-4, 280) improved his play down the stretch on both sides of the ball helping Trinity Episcopal to the State championship. Hogge was the best lineman on an explosive offense that got better as the season went on. Senior Henry Stillwell (6-foot-5, 260) was All-Prep League for St Christopher's and he has committed to Cornell. Episcopal senior Jack Bates (6-foot-8, 270) is a standout football and basketball player. He has more than 10 offers from East Carolina, Temple, James Madison, and Ivy league schools. Eric English (6-foot-4, 285) started at offensive guard for Bishop Sullivan and he was named TCIS All-Conference. He has interest from Marist and William & Mary.

2nd team Skill Players

Nansemond Suffolk running back Noah RB Noah Giles gained 1271 yards and scored 21 touchdowns on only 92 attempts. The junior added 19 receptions for 267 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Fernando Lewis led Christchurch with 1100 yards rushing including a 7.5 yards per carry and 16 touchdowns for a team that made it to the State championship game. Collegiate senior Evan Dean gained 1158 yards and scored eight touchdowns for the Cougars who ran the ball twice as many times as they had 10 years. Receiver Donaven Tennyson was a standout receiver finishing the year with 11 touchdowns on 41 catches for 841 yards. Fleet Wallace was voted Offensive Player of the Year in the Virginia Prep League. He finished his senior year with 39 receptions for 837 yards (21.5 per catch) and 10 touchdowns.
Bishop Ireton made the state title game and receiver Andrew Smith had a stellar senior season with 56 receptions for 1022 yards and 16 scores.
