Coach Young's Tidewater Mark for Oct. 1 & 2: 15-4 (78.9%)
Coach Young's Tidewater Season Total: 88-23 (79.3%)

... The guys split on a pair of Tidewater games with Ed getting Cox over Kellam 21-0, while Hatfield countered with Warwick toppling Kecoughtan 8-7.

Thursday's 10/7/21 Action:

Bethel (2-4) at Kecoughtan (3-1) . . .
While Bethel has been shut out twice in the past three games, Kecoughtan got off to a 3-0 start, their first since 2014. The Warriors then got tripped up 8-7 by Warwick last weekend. They’ll be banking on QB Marvin McCue (28 of 48 for 589 yards passing) to exploit a Bruins defense giving up nearly 22 points per game. Kecoughtan comes in allowing just under 7.3 PPG with juniors Elijah Lea and David Anderson anchoring a formidable d-line.

Matt Hatfield Says – Kecoughtan 20-13
Coach Ed Young Says –
Kecoughtan 16-12

Southampton (1-1) at Brunswick (2-1) . . . Although Southampton leads the all-time series 13-9, the Bulldogs have won five of the past eight meetings. Coming in, Brunswick is averaging 32.6 points per contest, having scored no fewer than 22 in any contest this season. The Indians, who were shut out by Lakeland 20-0, have not played since a 19-6 win over Colonial Heights back on September 17.

Matt Hatfield Says – Brunswick 26-16

Nelson County (1-4) at William Campbell (1-3) . . . The lone win to date for the Generals of William Campbell came 28-6 over Altavista, where they’ve given up 38+ points in losses to Staunton River, Central-Lunenburg and Gretna. However, Nelson County isn’t performing at a better rate as they notched a 20-16 win over Cumberland, but have been hit for 47+ in losses to Page County, Chatham and Prince Edward in addition to their 26-6 loss to Randolph-Henry.

Matt Hatfield Says – William Campbell 21-14
