A couple of comments:
*This year -unlike the past two years- VISAA is not rewarding teams for losing to a team in a different division.
So if you are in Div. III or Div. IV and lose to a Div. II team - in the past you would have received 5 points for the lose, if the
team was not in your conference - you don't get these points as in previous years.
*Keeping the same scenario as above - if the DII team wins 7 or more games the lower division teams will get
bonus points at the end of the year as follows:
7 wins = 1 point
8 wins = 2 points
9 wins = 3 points
*As it relates to the VES and FCS not having the proper wins, I can't speak to that. However, I will say this is the earliest I
have seen this poll come out, it generally isn't ready until Wednesday's. This weeks poll was published late yesterday,
maybe they didn't have all the info on wins and losses for each team. My last comment doesn't make sense, I'm just trying
to come up with a reasonable explanation for them not having it.
*As it relates to a team beating a team and being ranked lower, its all based upon points from wins and losses. Unlike
college there are no
style points. So if you beat a team by 70 or by 1 the points for the win are the same. Please see the

*I have been following private school football for the last three years and have seen two different point systems, debates on
how many teams you should play in your own division, teams playing lower division schools for a good portion of
their schedule, debates on excessive travel for private school teams and a plethora of other debates and pontifications on
the point system.
An option - not suggesting this - is to do away with private vs. public. In many states all schools are under one governing body and you are placed in a class (A, AA, AAA, etc...) based upon the number of boys in your school. Taking this approach would cut down on the travel for privates as they would have more schools in a regional area to play against. But I'm quite sure this approach would cause a problem in the ranks. One that does come to mind is "recruiting". Much like it's an issue for many of you on this site, It's also an issue for those public schools in the aforementioned states. Many site the inability to compete against the private schools due to wealth of talent these schools have.
http://www.ohsaa.org/members/separationinformationOct2013.pdf So in the end much like the college playoff system, there is always going to be something wrong with whatever is done.
In summary, given the landscape of private school football, it is very difficult to come up with a system that would please everyone. I think the VISAA - considering the landscape - is doing the best they can to help make competition fair and equitable for all private schools.
The bottom line is your team just has to take care of its own business by just winning week in and week out.
