SL received the opening KO and had field position on their own 31 yard line. Reaching the WF 47 yard line, SL failed on a 4th and one that was inches short and WF took over on their own 46 yard line. Unable to generate any offense, WF punted and was able to down the ball on the SL 2 yard line. SL got one first down, but then stalled and punted into the wind. Between the wind and a poor kick, WF had great field position on the SL 22 yard line. WF's Duda then ran it in from 7 yards out and WF led 7-0 (Mattfeld XP) with 4:36 remaining in the first quarter. SL's next possession ended in a punt, followed by a failed 4th and 5 at the SL 20 yard line by WF. After the failed WF 4th down attempt SL started at their own 19 yard line. Using a 51 yard pass from Daum to Prempeh, soon followed by a 12 yard Daum to Prempeh pass play, SL was on the WF 11 yard line. Two plays later Daum found Prempeh from 7 yards out and SL tied it up at 7-7 (Benyo XP) with 5:58 remaining in the first half. WF answered quickly behind a 54 yard Nelson run to the SL 21 yard line, followed shortly by a Nelson 15 yard TD run. WF now lead 13-7 with 4:07 left in the half after SL's Kyger blocked Mattfeld's XP attempt. SL punted on their next possession and WF put together a 60 yard drive and scored again when Johnson scored on a reverse from 35 yards out to extend the WF lead to 19-7 (Mattfeld XP was wide right) with less than 30 seconds remaining in the half. SL did not score on their last possession of the half and the teams went to the locker room with the score 19-7.

WF received the second half KO and after fumbling the kick found themselves deep in their own territory at the 18 yard line. Three plays lost a total of two yards and WF punted the ball to SL at the SL 40 yard line. SL moved to the WF 36 yard line where they faced a 4th and two, but a pass into the flat only gained one yard and WF took over on the WF 37 yard line. WF went right back to the running game and Nelson again found the end zone, this time from 34 yards out to extend the WF lead to 25-7 (2XP run failed) with 5:01 to go in the third quarter. SL used three plays to gain 7 yards to reach their own 42 yard line and set up for a punt. But the punt was a fake, with SL's Benyo running to his right before being caught short of the first down by WF's Keys to give WF another short field at the SL 38 yard line. WF went back to what was working, the running game, and Nelson scored for the third time on the night, this time from 10 yards out to bring the lead up to 31-7. After a 2XP run by WF's 340 pound right tackle Holmberg, the lead was 33-7 just four seconds into the fourth quarter. On SL's next drive, QB Daum fumbled on the SL 40 yard line and WF's Keys recovered on the SL 39 yard line. WF's Houser came in at QB and led WF to another score when Houser ran it in from a yard out to up the WF lead to 40-7 (Mattfeld XP) with 6:29 remaining in the game. SL then put together a 70 yard drive and scored when Luangraj ran it in from 2 yards out to cut the lead to 40-15 (Luangraj 2XP pass from Shuaib was good) with less than three minutes remaining. The two teams then each had another unproductive possession and the game ended, 40-15 in WF's favor.
