In a game filled with big play after big play, Westfield rolled up over 550 yards on offense and built a 48-7 lead before substituting liberally. With the WS starting offense remaining in the game, they scored twice in the 3rd quarter sandwiched around another long WF scoring play to make it a 55-21 game before WF scored late to win easily, 62-21. Given the numerous possessions by both teams, I am only going to write the game up as a summary of the game's drives.

WF: 66 yard drive (31 yard Kim to Morin pass; Nugent XP wide right), 6-0, 9:41 1st quarter
WS: Punt
WF: 55 yard drive (Kim 1 yard run; Nugent XP), 13-0, 2:16 1st quarter
WS: Punt
WF: 62 yard drive (Daniel 3 yard run, Nugent XP), 20-0, 10:51 2nd quarter
WS: Punt
WF: 72 yard drive (Goodman 35 yard run, Nugent XP), 27-0, 7:36 2nd quarter
WS: Punt
WF: 61 yard drive (61 yard Kim to Morin pass; Nugent XP), 34-0, 3:08 2nd quarter
WS: 65 yard drive (47 yard Muskett to Caussin pass; Sheets XP), 34-7, 1:55 2nd quarter
WF: 80 yard drive (65 yard Kim to Morin pass; Nugent XP), 41-7, 0:54 2nd quarter
WS: WS drives 52 yards to the WF 17 yard line, where WF's Hinton intercepts Muskett in the endzone (halftime)
WS: WF's Wheatland intercepts Muskett on the WS 35 yard line and returns it to the WS 3 yard line (Eugene Asante 2 yard run; Nugent XP), 48-7, 11:37 3rd quarter
WS: 76 yard drive (Tyrek Asante 10 yard run; Sheets XP), 48-14, 5:36 3rd quarter
WF: 80 yard drive (57 yard Kim to Morin pass; Nugent XP), 55-14, 2:47 3rd quarter
WS: 76 yard drive (10 yard Muskett to Dexter pass; Sheets XP), 55-21, 0:14 3rd quarter
WF: Punt
WS: WS's Cronin fumbles on the WF 13 yard line; fumble recovered by WF's Bushra
WF: 76 yard drive (Riche 67 yard run; Hildrup XP), 62-21, 0:17 4th quarter

Question: Has Asante been moved to defense "full-time"?
Asante has been playing primarily defense for several reasons. First, there was a need on the defensive side of the ball. Despite not playing much defense at all his first three years at WF, his athleticism has allowed him to fit right in at LB and he has made a huge difference on defense with his ability to get through the line or run people down. Second, Daniel, while not (yet?) the RB Asante is, is learning and has shown flashes of very good play along with mostly a solid performance. Third, I hear that at least one school is interested in seeing what he can do at LB. Playing both ways, which was a possibility, is draining on even the best players; it is best to leave him on defense as long as the offense can still put up the points-as it has. I think as the games get a bit tougher (3 of the next 4 on the schedule) we might see more of Asante at RB in certain situations, but if Daniel keeps progressing and performing that might not be necessary. The WF staff has always had a knack for developing players throughout the season and for putting people in the right spots to make the team better-this is exactly what is going on here.
