The Tigers have been a powerhouse in the private sector for several years now. Woodberry Forest has won the Prep League championship in seven of the last eight seasons and are on a three year run as the reigning conference title holder.

Under coach Clinton Alexander, the group has continually moved several players from the high performance academic football program to the next level with a few reaching the elite level of the NFL.

While it's uncertain at this point if any of this years group will make it to the ultimate level, the class of 2016 has several star-studded athletes. Here are a few of the names that will be continuing their football careers at the highest level of the collegiate ranks.

Offensive Tackle Clark Yarbrough headlines the class for the Tigers with his letter of intent signing to Stanford University. The 6-foot-6, 268 pounder has been on college radars for most of his high school career and pulled in tons of offers during that time. Yarbrough committed to Stanford in May 2015 and made it official earlier in the week.

Zach Roderick
has been a highlight reel for the team at wide receiver for the Tigers and finished his 2015 season with 65 receptions for 1219 yards and 16 receiving touchdowns. Roderick confirmed that he will heading to Campbell University.

Defensive back Eulogio "Logi" Portugal will be heading to Bryant College to continue his football playing days. Portugal moved from New York to attend Woodberry and will now be heading north again to the school located in Rhode Island. Portugal had 78 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 3 forced fumbles last fall.

Linebacker Ryan Grady signed his letter of intent to play at Army in West Point. The 6-foot-2, 201 pound athlete finished 2015 with 118 tackles from his inside position and was a leader for the defensive group that came together down the stretch after a rough start to the season against opposing offenses.
