Woodgrove High School opened in 2010 and one of the most talented prospects to come through the Purcellville school would without a doubt be Price Williams.

The well-rounded 6-foot-3, 223-pound athlete has been on the football scene he was a 9th grader and colleges quickly took note of his size combined with great football instincts. Virginia Tech offered him during his sophomore year and more than a dozen other schools followed with a list that featured such programs as Buffalo, Central Michigan, Duke, Kent State, Old Dominion, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest, among others.

Ivy League schools also got in the picture with Columbia, Dartmouth and Harvard, but he ultimately decided to go the high academic institution route and give a commitment on July 21st to Princeton.

Where Williams lines up for the Tigers remains to be seen as he's been able to contribute for the Wolverines at wide receiver, tight end, quarterback, linebacker and even safety. This past season as a junior, he was a unanimous All-Region and All-District pick at running back as well as at safety. His dependable hands and ability to move in space could make him a natural fit as a tight end or slot receiver.

"Explosive, dynamic and can play three positions on each side of the ball," Woodgrove Head Coach Derek Barlow commented in describing Williams prior to the 2019 campaign. "High character, workaholic... will be one of the biggest recruits to come out of Loudoun County in quite some time."

His versatility has been a trait that has stood out since his freshman year when he helped the Wolverines to a 38-33 victory over Lake Taylor in the VHSL Class 4 State Championship in 2018 at Liberty University. That day, Williams hauled in two touchdown passes.

The next season, Woodgrove moved up to Class 5 and he was still a force, dabbling some at quarterback, where he threw multiple touchdown passes in the team's loss to Stone Bridge in the Region 5C Finals. Back in April, he continued to show his knack for making plays no matter what position he plays, breaking off a 72-yard touchdown run in the team's 20-13 win over Potomac Falls.

Last season, the Wolverines finished 3-3, seeing their abbreviated campaign come to an end in the opening round of the playoffs in a 26-8 loss to Briar Woods. They move into Region 5D, which features four squads in Independence, Massaponax, William Fleming and reigning Class 5 State Champ Stone Bridge that qualified for the State Playoffs during the 2020-21 school-year.

Woodgrove opens the 2021 campaign at home on August 27th against John Champe in what will be the first meeting between the two schools since the Wolverines prevailed 30-3 back in 2016.
