Trust me, they’ve tried every cycle. In recent years, Essex has had 5A Deep Run that they went 1-1 with, 4A King George split 1-1 and 3A Thomas Jefferson that they went 2-0 against. Now, teams that are looking to be playoff teams are trying to get those power points for the playoff seeding. So playing Essex is not a good move for them.

The Stallions then went Wildcat, after the TD with K'Saan Farrar to Jayden Anderson, and Salem's defense keeps them from increasing the lead further.

Early on in the game, the Stallions were unable to get the key third and fourth down conversions. They're now getting it done.

One of Salem's key defenders, Jaden Hudson, has to run off the field before the first play from scrimmage. Green Run's run game takes advantage with Terrance Ealy Jr. gaining 9. Thy then get the first down on a run from Ealy.

A pass play with QB K'Saan Farrar to RB Charles Jackson - lined up on the outside as a receiver - nets 17 yards into Salem territory. Faced with a 1st & 5 from the Salem 33, the Sun Devils buckle down thanks to a pass breakup by Antwan Young and tackle in open space on third down from Maurice Latham.

But on 4th & 4, the Salem corners are playing too far off and the Stallions find their dynamic playmaker in Jayden Anderson to add to their lead.
