Dead? Region C

Region C favorites George Wythe followed by Galax, Giles, and Fort Chiswell competing for 2nd. 3 key things are Galax is still Galax, but they have to take a step back with the loss of those 2 superstars. Grayson takes a step back. Fort Chiswell is the team to watch. They could possibly win the district and region, but I'll go with GW with what they return. I don't know about PM. Narrows takes a step back and Giles will be better.
The Pioneer looks to be down this year. We will be okay, but I look for Bath to win the district. I’ve heard that Craig has had impressive weight room numbers but it’s way too early to tell. I still think they lose to everyone but East Mont. I do not know much about Giles, bur fort Chiswell did lose their two studs. I think the region may be closer than it’s been in a while.

Looking forward to that EV/Huguenot game early in the season. Feel like that game will have some effect on final point ratings at the in of the regular season in 4B. Got to see Dabney Jr early last year, kid is a beast! How does the rest of EV and KG team project this year?
EV returns their big QB and a very good WR in Will Butler. They’ll be at worst 8-2 and King George will be at worst 9-1. KG has another really good CB/WR in Gunnar Rugar who will fill in for their losses on the outside. I don’t expect a big drop off for KG. I think the 804 will be too much this year. Varina/Huguenot just has a little more depth and more size for me, but Dinwiddie is still going to have two of the better athletes in the region and Mills does a lot with a little bit better than any coach you can think of. It’s all about matchups come playoff time.

Both are Power 5 guys. Clatterbaugh is going to Tech and Johnson will play big time college football somewhere. Johnson played mostly LB but can hurt you on offense at RB. I expect EV to use Clatterbaugh on offense way more this year. Huguenot and Varina both have 2 or 3 more kids who could easily be in somebody’s top 10. Wouldn’t be surprised if Michael Dabney Jr. is your offensive player of the year in 4B.

Nice list, personally haven’t seen much of Clatterbaugh or Johnson to form an opinion

Prince William County Senior Showcase Prospects

****** Keep Checking for Updates *********

Brentsville cornerback Tyler Owens (5-foot-10, 180) had seven interceptions as a junior while being selected 1st All-Region defensive back and 1st team All-Region at receiver. At the showcase he shutdown most every receiver and looks like a D1 prospects. He was one of the best prospects on the field.

Potomac athlete Alphonso Evans (5-foot-8, 160) was an All-District running back but I felt he did his best as a cornerback during the one-on-one drills. He was aggressive with his coverage, reacted well to the receivers direction and even picked off a pass.

Garfield receiver Germaine Gillion (6-foot-0, 170) had several inquiries after the field drills and he has an offer from Maine. He was one of the better-looking receivers and he had a couple of explosive catches. Gillion was an All-District Punt Returner and displayed versatility with four interceptions and five total touchdowns including two punt returns for scores. He caught 12 passes for 145 yards.

Offensive lineman Jack Smoot (6-foot-4, 280) had a lot of college interests after the one-on-one workouts at the Prince William County Senior Showcase. Smoot has offers from North Carolina A&T, Morgan State and Hampton. A strong college camp showing should increase his exposure to D1 schools.

The 1st prospect wrote down even before talking to the high school coaches was Forest Park rising senior Elijah Foster (6-foot-5, 280) who plays offensive guard. Stevenson University offered Battlefield rising seniors Samuel Egharevba (6-foot-4, 270) and Emmanuel Ackom-Daafo (6-foot-4, 250). Egharevba plays offensive tackle while Ackom-Daafo starts at defensive end.

There were a couple of talented quarterbacks who appear to be nearing offers. Patriot quarterback Tyler Knutson threw for 1341 yards with 16 touchdowns for the Pioneers as a junior. He has great size (6-foot-4) but is still awaiting his 1st D1 offer Gainesville quarterback. Colton Kilmer was very productive as a junior passing for 2580 passing yards with 33 touchdowns. He added 703 rushing yards and has an offer from wheeling University.

Homie can't stay out of the news...

I don’t equate racism with politics. I don’t think it’s a political opinion to call out racism for what it is.

Now, perhaps you could equate the track coach’s grievance as political. I don’t, but I guess you could.

I can’t speak for EPJr.
I’m black and institutionally there’s a lot of racism we can call out. I just wish more people on here talked ball.

Its crazy how each region does their tournament differently. Region D will seed by district standings. So Southwest district 1 seed plays Mnt 7 District 4 seed, SW2 plays Mnt 7 3 seed and so on. I believe i like the way your region does it better.

Edit: but i guess thats because region A has more than 2 districts. So makes sense if so
Yeah Region A has the Tidewater, Eastern Shore, Bay Rivers, James River and Tri Rivers all with representatives, so it's very spread out. To be honest, I don't even know how they determine seeding. Lol

I did just hear that KW is the #1 seed in Region A and will host the 8/9 seed winner on Thursday. That'll be either Greensville or Amelia. I haven't heard anything other seeds though, as of now.

What a regional tournament it is shaping up to be. There's 4 legit state championship contenders in this region. Lunenburg has one loss on the season to Randolph Henry. Randolph Henry led by Liberty signee Danner Allen has only 3 losses, King William led by JMU signee Taylor Johnson has just one loss, to class 6 Cosby, and Poquoson only has 3 losses playing in the tough Bay Rivers district. KW was a state semifinalist last year and honestly should have made it to the championship game. Poquoson was a state quarterfinalist last season. Lunenburg was a state semifinalist in class 1 last season, while RH lost to KW in the regional semifinals in 10 innings. Throw in Amelia, who beat RH this season once and Nottoway, who only lost to RH by one today and even Nandua and who knows how it will turnout. I'll definitely be curious how the seeds play out.

Honestly, the entire state tournament is wide open. Region B has Page Co, Buckingham and Strasburg. Region C has Appomattox and Region D has Richlands, Lebanon and John Battle. It'll ultimately boil down to who makes the least amount of errors and who can come up with the timely hits.
Completely agree with your last sentence. But add Wise Central to your Region D list. They seem to be on fire at the right time. Mountain 7 has been difficult to figure out though. Also Lee High could give some teams some problems. We'll see how they've progressed Thursday

Top 25 players in the 804

Another really good kid left off the list? Earlonte Winston from Herm. Picked up his first offer today from FCS Delaware State. One of the better running backs I’ve seen last year as well.
We are fortunate to have so many players within the region that they can't all make a Top 25. Says a lot for the level of talent running through the region and the coaching behind them.
