The same offense that Salem runs. The head coach at Fleming was a QB at Salem.Exactly, they dominated the trenches because they have studs all over the field!!

You never know. There is now four starters who did not play in Fleming game.I’ve never seen a Salem team that wasn’t much better in games 8-9-10, than they were in the first three games.
Injuries suck, especially when you don't have the depth you used to have. Dinwiddie ran into that last year during the playoffs. We lost three db's and King George abused our secondary. They do have some injuries too that are affecting their play!
They do have some injuries too that are affecting their play!Wow! Salem has started 1-2 for the first time in 22 years, last year you put two guys in the SEC, have numerous state championships/championship appearances and haven't had a losing season since when?
I don't think its the system that's broke or the coaches are the problem. You guys lost a ton of talent in the past two years. Reloading is no longer easy. Just maybe the better Roanoke Valley players are staying at home and not opting to transfer to Sparta.
Everybody struggles at some point. No need to panic. Salem's district schedule (one decent opponent in PH) will allow the Spartans to get well in a hurry and they will be a major player come playoff time.
Any win in Lynchburg is a good win from the GW perspective. That was not the same Glass team that showed up at LB and PH. Not minimizing the GW win, just commenting on Glass and a seemingly growing trend of inconsistency among VaHS football teams. There are always exceptions but, early on this year seems more volatile.Yup, I’m just poking fun at you! I’m happy to see them run the ball as well. You called it a long time ago that GW needed to beef up in the trenches and prioritize the fundamentals (tackling, playing assignment football, etc). Long season ahead but definitely good to see them playing good football so far this season.

Nice win for GW and my take was GW ran the ball instead of getting cute. I wish them well. We have gone and forth enough over the years that you know where I stand.

Knew picking Herm over the Route 5 Boyz would bite me in the tail!
@mike salem thanks for another great week of Pick Em!
Exactly, they dominated the trenches because they have studs all over the field!!What offense did WF run?
I am hopeful that Glass’s administration works with GW to reduce suspension. We see A LOT WORSE barely get a period of in school suspension in the school system. From what I saw, he did not throw any punches, didn’t curse any adult out, and when it was announced he was ejected, he acted very respectful considering the circumstances. No reason to punish this young man’s future and absolute no reason that kid should be out for a month. I’m all about holding kids accountable but I believe the ejection was enough punishment.Bye week doesn’t count so technically he won’t play for a month. To me it doesn’t look like a punch. Don tried to get up off of the glass player after driving him into the turf and it looks like the glass player still had a hold of Don’s jersey, which made Don lose his balance for a second and then he used his arm to try to get back up, with a forceful push to the chest with a wide open hand. He never makes a fist. For him to potentially miss an entire month for this is crazy. A basketball player could knock someone out cold and only be out 1 week if they had 3 games in that timeframe. I would definitely appeal and if that doesn’t work, if I’m his parents I’m hiring an attorney.
