I really, for the life of me, don’t understand why this game wasn’t just moved to today or tomorrow smh some people just don’t get it I guess

They are not my attorneys! Fairfax County had an obligation to properly investigate each and every player that was involved in this mass transfer. This is not just about transferring to another school when it involves multiple levels of wrongdoing. There were issues with bullying, which is strongly disparaged this day and age, whether people like it or not. There were issues with players being charged to play football for a public high school team, and told if they did not like it, they needed to transfer to another school. Fairfax County failed in doing a proper investigation and VHSL took over. VHSL took enough flack after the John Marshall situation and they knew with all of the public news medias involved that this could not go unresolved. More than 20 players mysteriously moved into that school district from other schools, that just happened to be star players at other schools,and for some reason, people don’t find that mysterious. Players move and transfer all the time. You had parents involved,and I mean parents with money!!! That is a super super liberal area and you know, as well as I do,that those parents were not gonna stand for their kids being bullied. VHSL could not do anything until Fairfax County had announced their decision,and that decision had to be announced before the first game played by hayfield. Hayfield’s athletic Director and principal were given ample opportunity to take care of this matter before it even went to Fairfax County, and neither the administration at Hayfield and Fairfax County did anything. maybe you should call hayfield and ask why they didn’t further Investigate this Coach and the situation? That cocky bastard thought he was gonna laugh in the face of VHSL. Players were called into the office at noon yesterday and told they were ineligible.

These players have the ability to appeal, but it must go through every layer of the appeal process now! That includes hayfield high school, Fairfax County, the district, the region,and then finally VHSL!

Buckingham comes to MC next week. Should be a good measuring stick for where the Mounties are…Buckingham is always good.

Staunton will win some games this year though… good win for us for sure.

This long drought has been tough on the faithful…it’d be nice to be relevant again!

I have an issue with the excessive coaches but most of those guys are my Varina brothers through the different eras so I try not to criticize too bad. But man I'm starting to feel like I'm a cowboys fan.

Most of them are freshman and sophomores and predominantly freshman. Only 4 seniors. He’s a new coach and he’s not trying to get those kids hurt. I think it’s a good decision. They are not going to be competitive at all.

Well as I said earlier in the week, I would be lucky to correctly pick 3 or 4 of this week's 7 Shenandoah openers. So I am 0-1 so far.

Yeah, Coach Rudd played at Meadowbrook and understand the kids/culture. He was a good kid then and a good man now. His old travel soccer coach T.O. Rainey is looking down from heaven and smiling. I know I am proud of him.

@GoBlue2109, it's just as @BoKnowsSports said. Aside from Huguenot they have the most overall talent in B. No, their running game was awful and Varina turned ball over on downs, turnovers, penalties. They can surely play better and may. I don't understand the madness. You let Linwood walk away, so Wyche can start then Hansom transfers in a you play two qb's? Same as last year. Pick a man and adjust your scheme to fit the player. Throw it up and pray aint and offensive scheme.

MBK is gonna be okay. They have “The DB Whisperer” there coaching the defense and say what you want, he gets some very good athletes to follow him wherever he goes. MBK is on their way back.

Good post @BoKnowsSports and spot on. After seeing Manchesters performance I am not high on them. EV is reportedly dropping the Huguenot game, so both teams should be 8-1 or 9-0. Dinwiddie needs to go 9-1 to get home field advantage over an undefeated be Battlefield team. A undefeated Huguenot, especially with only nine games has all contenders playing on the road.

A game that’s not on pick em could surprise a lot of people is Indian River at Varina. I’m sure most would pick Varina but IR brings back some really good players off of their Regional Championship team.

PH put Devin Roose at QB and they just may be playing 11-12 games this season.

Love confidence @10iceiceice, but Prince George looks about the same and Colonial Heights took a bad loss. Both teams will struggle to get a win in the district. Petersburg, Dale, and Meadowbrook went to work. Coach Billy Rudd is really doing a great job for the Monarchs.

Varina still has Bishop McNamara (game probably won’t count points wise), Glen Allen, and Highland Springs. Hell they gotta go to Ashland this year, where they’ve struggled. Varina really couldn’t afford tonight if they want to play at home in November. Gotta think KG runs the table, Dinwiddie is going to be favored in 9 of 10 games, Huguenot will at worst be 8-2 and get a lot of rider points, and EV will probably go 9-1/8-2.. Haven’t even touched Powahtan and I’m hearing Courtland will compete for the Battlefield championship. Will be no worse than 7-3. Very tough region.

@BoKnowsSports, you hit a home run. The offensive coordinator baffles me. With all that talent and you would think they could find somebody to tote the mail. Varina's o line is slow, but decent. If you have decent corners and quick linebackers it's easy to shut them down.
