I’m guessing it was not a break. I’m still hearing 3-4 weeks. Bundy & Holmes didn’t play in the last scrimmage vs. 2A Southampton & 3A Armstrong out of Richmond. Southampton was a 2nd round playoff team last year and Armstrong fell in the Regional Champinship. I was told vs. Essex 1st string, Southampton scored once on a blown assignment and Armstrong (with 14 returning starters) didn’t score at all on Essex 1st team D. I also was told a couple 1st year varsity guys did real good filling in for Bundy & Holmes.

I agree with both. If Varina puts up 17 on IR then watch out! That would be a big improvement,

I would expect a low scoring game between IR and Varina with Varina winning something like 17-10. IR will have athletes but I don't think they will have much success on offense unless they have improved a lot.

I won't be at HSHS vs Manchester but I think HSHS wins big in that one.

Just watched Dinwiddie vs Battlefield scrimmage. Dinwiddie looked fast and sound on defense. Biggest takeaway was the offense having success when Dalton clearly wasn't a run threat. Those guys will have even more space when you have to worry about Dalton running, so I would expect another huge year offensively.

The defense is very fast and will be better than last year. But I think they may some struggles early before they round into playoff form.

If there are any struggles it’ll be the Maury game. Maury’s strength was our weakness last year (Pass Defense). This preseason I’ve seen we’ve been better at communicating in the secondary and hopefully that’ll help us flourish week by week. If that pass defense can hold up this year could turn out to be special.
