Currently expecting 2" to 5" of snow, Thursday night into Friday Morning. Main roads should be clear by the afternoon. Also are they expecting snow?

I remember last year the sentiment was the same, Varina will easily beat Huguenot and that was not the case… also, same story about the weak schedule from the same posters. This Huguenot team is substantially better than their squad last year. Maybe Varina’s is too, we shall see. I would be stunned if Huguenot only scored 16 points though. The scores of X team against Y team don’t always act as much of a predictor. I could spiral out of control on that topic and show you many games that don’t add up this season when comparing wins against neutral opponents and margin of victories. I’ll admit, it is the only thing we have to go off of though. I think Huguenot’s offense is the most diverse that I have seen this year. Now maybe, Varina’s pass rush is so good they have no time but Varina will not be able to just pin their ears back. Huguenot has two very good tailbacks. I’d say for me, the one thing I wonder about Huguenot is can they consistently stop Varina. I know their defensive numbers have been great but Varina will definitely be the best team they faced all year so far.Their games against Powhatan & Monacan make me think they lose this game. Both of those teams are spread teams who run the ball & in both those games they trailed against inferior talent. Now you goto Varina and play against a team with the same scheme but SIGNIFICANTLY better talent who has played a stronger schedule than you, I think in the 4th quarter that will come into play. It means something when a team has been in a war a knows how to squeeze out a win even when they play bad. I said 24-22 Varina this weekend I’m starting to lean 28-16 Varina. I’ve just got to see it to believe it from Huguenot.
Will be the first thing that comes out of his mouth if he pulls it off.lolWanting to see a "Nobody gave us a chance" rant from Coach Bradley. Should be a great game. Rooting for whoever comes out to win it all.
The superintendent came from Washington state while the Hayfield principal came from Richmond. It seems unlikely they would have a prior personal or professional connection.I have no proof, but early in this debacle I recall there was an article or post that Reid knows the principal well from another job or school system.
Nothing will happen. The school district is radicalized. And this is yet another byproduct of what happens when certain types of people are voted in.The Schoolboard would sacrifice the Superintendent before they take the fall. The Schoolboard is unbelievably shielded by some invisible law shield that makes them immune from facing consequences of "morally objective decisions". However, they can and I have seen it happen, sell out the Super to get the heat off of the Board and quiet the masses. By the next election, everyone just remembers they helped remove the "problem". As with MOST situations, the TOP SPOT is always the target. Although it does sound like Reid is complicit here. It's NOT looking good at all. I can't help but wonder if there was some sort of professional relationship that existed between Reid and the Hayside Principal and AD prior to their hiring....that would make for an interesting "oh by the way" storyline....
I proposed this the other day. Have an Open Division. Teams can play whoever they want and aren't assigned a district and therefore do not have a district schedule. School size doesn't matter (so if a 300 student school wants to be in an Open Division, then they run the risk of playing against a 3000 student school). I would say that a minimum of 16 teams are needed to create the division. Have a selection committee choose the Top 8 and have three rounds of playoffs. Then, they can decide their little state champion so they can feel good about being different from the other schools. My thought process has been going here for a while. I have a class for all-star teams and let them duke it out for a championship. They have a different set of rules and guidelines and schools can appeal to play in that class if they so choose. Then you have a 4-class system with the other schools. Pretty simple in theory.
Not surprising to be honest. But wait it gets better…🙄…
Reid summons coaches to Gatehouse meeting after leveling racism charge
Fairfax County Public Schools Superintendent Michelle Reid has summoned to a meeting tonight at Gatehouse headquarters the six football coaches who sent her a letter on Monday expressing a votewww.fairfaxtimes.com
Thanks and man I really hope you are wrong lol.Safe travels !!! Altavista by 30
I completely agree. Some of the best games in recent years in central/southwest VA have been between LCA and Heritage. Besides LCA's 42-0 over Heritage last year, there's never any doubt that the two teams will scrap and fight for every last inch on the field every time they line up. Can't wait to see how Friday night plays outLCA better bring their A game as well. These two teams are not strangers and are well coached. I expect a lower score and closer game this time around.

I expect a lower score and closer game this time around.LCA has also improved quite a bit since the matchup back in September. I don't want to take anything away from Heritage despite their struggles toward the end of the regular season, but if they don't being their A(+) game, I don't see them having a chance on Friday.

Can't be the one that showed up against Glass and Brookville, if that happens it will be over quick. If they can slow Gideon Davidson down enough to stay close in the 4th I believe they will have a good shot at the W.
My God man… Got a headache out the azz from the first 3 posts 😂 I need somebody to smack me if I ever rant and ramble like that.Go read the Riverheads/Stuarts Draft thread in C2 boards, that one's a doozy.

So did the other poster in this thread... My original reply was that the BC doubters are still alive and wellYou changed your original reply why? So tell us what you really think!!
My thought process has been going here for a while. I have a class for all-star teams and let them duke it out for a championship. They have a different set of rules and guidelines and schools can appeal to play in that class if they so choose. Then you have a 4-class system with the other schools. Pretty simple in theory.I had a HS coach tell my child that if they wanted to be considered for a starter on his team, they'd need to join HIS off season travel team! This should never be allowed. The conflict is clear.
Those "other entities" are utilized to entice families to do what we see in these All Star type teams. The other way to go about this is to go ahead & allow a Cali type league that is segregated as such but not eligible for VHSL championships. Let them schedule private schools & the National powers just keep it out of the VHSL. For me, it's the unfair level of competition the current system has produced.
IF parent choice actually occurs, with pretty much open enrollment, then there's a good chance this academy type school for sports will be the natural progression of things anyway.
We will have to agree to disagree. I doubt any of the things you characterize as much worse has generated the notoriety surrounding the Hayfield/FCPS situation and the situation has elements(negligence, fraud, etc.) found in the things you describe as "much worse." What else is FCPS going to do other than back Hayfield? They are in this thing up to their eyeballs after their "investigation" if not before. I think you misread the situation, particularly the part about a bunch of people with resources going after the state's largest school division. Who do you believe those people with resources might be? All I see are schools and neighboring school divisions impacted by the FCPS failures challenging them. I think your last line about money and conflict of interest is a stretch but, without further explanation of what you really mean and are trying to say I cannot challenge or determine whether I have misinterpreted what you mean. Not really. Much worse happens with SOLs, negligence, accreditation, etc and principals re-land relatively easy. FCPS has backed Hayfield through all of this and if they do end up back peddling, it’ll be minimal. If FCPS hasn’t “found” anything, unless Hayfield is stupid, the worse I see happening is forfeiting games. The only reason it’s gone this far is you have a bunch people with resources going after the state’s largest school division. Money and conflict of interest within litigation will save Hayfield and that school division.
