Breaking News: New Playoff Format

@Virginia HS Football Fan please do not take my comments as being disrespectful. Sometimes I think your strong disdain of the VHSL clouds your mind to the actual facts.

This decision was made in March of 2024. The minutes were posted in April. Whether you like it or not the membership schools not the vhsl votes on these things. They are not required to notify the public of anything. The playoff format is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week on the website and all the teams knew. Just have to look. The only reason I brought this up is because I was working on my media guide and ran across the memo from Chris Robinson. The memo was not an announcement it was a reminder for the schools. Just thought the fans might want to know about the changes.

Because it's for all sports I agree with @1MoreHokie and due to financial matters I do not think it will last.

Hopefully, I have not gotten you riled up again, but you need to understand and accept the true facts.
It may have been decided in March, but at the top of the memo in red it says:

Updated October 25, 2024

So it might have been decided on more recently?
Either way, it is what it is, but IMO those kinds of things need to be decided and announced before the season.

Dept of Education

I’m proud that everyone is being mature about it. I think it shows we can talk about things without getting political.

A lot of gibberish on this thread. But the joke one about chicken nuggets was actually the most accurate. Federal government provides a very small part of schools budget compared to local and state. But they do subsidize school lunch and breakfast, and fund reading specialists for qualifying elementary schools.
Have you ever had the Chicken Nuggets at the Salem High School Cafeteria? They are no joke. How do you thing those Mule Colts have the energy to open up a can every Thursday night????

Ho, Ho...Hey, Hey, Keep Your hands of my nuggetts, RFK!

I believe I'm more confused about the point that you were trying to make more than ever before. One of the pitfalls of "reading" ones written words.
Have a great day Ken...FWIW, I've had African American friends treat me a lot better than blood related family members. GOOD PEOPLE don't come in a specific color.
Tell em all to stop shooting each other unless you have not heard about hmgun biolence and while you are at it get my kids and my brother to give me my money back.

2013 Salem 0 Sherando 7 . No need to throw out Cuss and language like that. You can ask the question without that. And Tuscarora is not straight up 81.
Yes Salem lost that game on the road (they were a little young, but it led to two straight State Championship games losing to Lake Taylor in 2014 and beating Lake Taylor in 2015). However, they have headed north towards Winchester and or DC multiple times and won. Salem just doesn't care if it's on the road. Hell won State Championship on Lake Taylors homefield in 2020. Cherish your win 11 years ago

Hayfield

I usually agree with a lot of things you opine...but this is something else.
I'm going to guess, because of your writing background, this was your sarcasm gift shining through? We've improved in quite a few areas, but we're FAR from perfect or finished in terms of race relations. BOTH sides have work to do. WE ALL CAN DO BETTER....it DOES exist Ken...seriously.
I would rather face 10 million racists than 1 more Black man with a gun pointed at me demanding my belongings. Get out of your own nightmare. No one is required to like any person for any reason and LIKE or DISLIKE is not more dangerous than the guns and bullets that Black people are using on each other. I was in West Germany 27 years after the end of WWII and until 1989. I've played football on 2 continents. Germans have a better record of being human with me than my own family members let alone members of the Black community. Get off of it please. If you want to create a new world where we are not a real danger to each other you are one step from a new type of Disneyland. Meanwhile we can pretend that street gangs are there for the common good.

Powhatan at Dinwiddie

I want to see Dinwiddie vs Varina or Huguenot for the regional championship at Dinwiddie. Huge admirer of the Dinwiddie program and Billy Mills. Dinwiddie got the worse draw of the bunch. Powhatan isn’t an 8 seed talented team, could’ve very well been a 4-6 seed. I’m not trying to convince myself or anyone to buy stock in the Indians, but I think it’ll be a lot closer than most are thinking. Lots of favorable match ups for both sides on Friday.

The original post said GW, Salem, or JF would be a better game against Phoebus. I understood that as Phoebus is going to be in the Championship game vs someone from Region D that beat the 804 champ. So at that point, the field would be whoever Phoebus plays in the championship. 🤣
You had me confused 😂

I meant that those were the only 3 teams that could possibly give Phoebus a game in the state semi’s (Region A plays Region D). It will be the 804 vs 757 for the state championship. BOOK IT!

Boy, they were throwing a lot of racist remarks towards us on Twitter that week 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m not shocked one bit! They f’ed around and found out..literally got ran over by that freight train (Sadarrius Williams) 😂.. GW went to Handley that March to play them in the state semi’s and them refs made sure they got their lick back. Never seen a more blatantly “agenda pushed” game. I think at one point, GW had 17 + fouls to their 1. It was terrible and they went years without losing a home basketball game. Handley had some hoopers though fashoo.

Except, they need legal residency in the Huguenot School District. If they have that, then it is what it is. But, it’s hard for me to believe that more than one or two kids from Huguenot were enrolled at Life Christian. But a lot more than one or two transferred to Huguenot. Just saying!,,
For Huguenot, A lot of kids came in as true 9th graders last year so it was less impact verses a true ship jump from another program. Also, I believe they just need to technically live in the city of Richmond. The scale at Hayfield is what did them in. How would they think they would get away with that? I am not absolving Huguenot but it is light weight compared to the Hayfield situation. Also, Huguenot has been quiet which is a good thing.
