question...Essex at Altavista
I suppose that I do not understand how this thing works (don't follow basketball like I do football). Yes, it is my understanding that Essex travels to Altavista on Monday. Okay, that's very exciting and all (of course, the same two teams that went at it in that great state title football game).
My thought is that Essex travels tonight to play Lancaster for the Conference 43 championship game. Yet, no matter who wins, regions are set it seems like. What's the point? A trophy....risks of injury...
So I am supposing that the teams were rated (which I have no problem with, I like that idea in general) based on regular season final records. If this the case, why not include the conference games (or was it done like this because of all the snow). I guess that this is why some were said to just do away with the conference tournaments (an idea that I do not like, too much tradition, local rivalries etc.).
So Essex must be the #8 seed, yet could be the Conference 43 champion having knocked off 3 teams that are or were in the top 10....
