2015 CHANCE HARMAN CLASSIC JAN. 2-3; 4 NATIONALLY RANKED TEAMS

8th annual Chance Harman Classic will be held on January 2-3, 2015, at Floyd County High School in Floyd, VA. This event is in memory of Varisty Boys Basketball Head Coach Brian Harman's 4 year old son that passed away with a brain tumor in 2007. Over the last 3 years it has hosted some of the top teams and players in the nation. Just two years ago it had 2014 #1 NBA draft pick Andrew Wiggins and Huntington Prep. This years teams will have the most talent that has been at any Classic since it has began. It will host the #4 Prep school in the nation ELEV8 Prep from Delray Beach, FL. ELEV8 will be taking on Mt. Zion from Baltimore, MD. Coaching ELEV8 Prep is Roanoke native Chad Myers, also on their roster is Caleb Tanner, VHSL all-time leading scorer from Floyd County. #4 ranked high school Huntington Prep (Huntington, WV) will be back to take on Franklin County High School on Friday afternoon. Leading Huntington with be #16 ranked SR. Thomas Bryant, #37 ranked SR. Ted Kapita, and #7 ranked JR. Miles Bridges. #7 ranked high school Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, NC) will return to the Classic to take on #14 ranked high school Cape Henry Collegiate (Virginia Beach, VA). This has been listed nationally as one of the most intriguing matchups of the 2014-2015 season. Wesleyan Christian is lead by #3 ranked JR. Harry Giles and #50 ranked JR. Kwe Parker. Cape Henry is lead by Virginia Tech commit #63 ranked SR. Chris Clarke. This game is scheduled for Saturday night, Cape Henry will also be playing Mountain Mission on Friday night. The Classic will also host some big time local matchups as well. One of the top will be Friday night between (A STATE RUNNER UP) Radford against (AA STATE CHAMPION) Dan River. The Classic has added a Slam Dunk Competition for Friday night. There will be several special silent auction items including sports memorabilia, golf packages, and much more. All tickets (SINGLE DAYS, WEEKEND PASS, AND VIP TICKETS) are on sale on the website. Some of the Silent Auction items can be viewed on the Chance Harman Memorial Fund page on Facebook. Raffle tickets will be sold for numerous entertainment items along with the main giveaway being a 5 day cruise to the Caribbean all expenses paid.
