2016 regular season recap

I thought I would just list somethings that I will remember about A1Football in Virginia 2016

1. Defending A1 Champion Galax lost 2 games in a row: Fort Chiswell and Graham
2. 2015 runner up Riverheads goes 9-1 with only loss to Unbeaten A2 Stuarts Draft IN OT
3. Biggest turnarounds: Fort Chiswell from 0-10 to 7-3 & Chilhowie from 2-8 to 8-2
4. Essex starts season at 1-4, and finishes at 5-5 with a 7 seed in the East: Essex will play anybody!
5. Hurley goes 10-0 in the West with 220 students & that Stadium "The Cliff "
6. Colonial Beach goes 8-2 in the East with only 180 students; "Surf Up" and so is CB!
7. Sussex finishes season unbeaten 10-0 with top seed in the East
8. West powerhouse George Wythe goes 9-1 in regular season; What do they feed those guys?
9. Parry McCluer finishes regular season at 9-1, and still looking for some respect
10.Narrows qualifies for the playoffs with a 6-4 record....best in several years for the Green Wave
11.Patrick Henry has another solid season at 7-3; The turnaround continues at PH
12.Honaker wins only 3 games, but the Tigers are playoff bound at 3-7
13. Who did I miss or leave out????? Not being that familiar with the East teams, someone

No, I did not forget those teams that did not make the post season. You guys played just as
Hard as anyone, and deserve recognition also. God Speed to all teams!

A team that did not make the playoffs in 1A, Rappahannock County. First winning season EVER, capped off a 6-4 season in style with a 61-0 spanking of Hundred High in WV earlier today.

Congrats to the Panthers!

And, thought not considered a public school, they're definitely not a private school either.. a big shoutout to Quantico! 10-0 and gunning for a state title in D3 in the private ranks.
