I am curious to see KWhs's Top 10 because he's more knowledgeable than me on this. Below is a pure guess based on what some teams lose and some return. I'm familiar with what teams in the West return and what Strasburg and Poquoson return, but have no idea about Draft, Woodstock, Clark, Buckingham, King William, Southampton.

1. Union
2. Strasburg
3. Thomas Jefferson-Richmond
4. Radford
5. Graham
6. Poquoson
7. Glenvar
8. Clarke
9. King William
10. Draft/Southampton/Buckingham/Gate City/Gretna/Woodstock?

1. Graham
2. Union
3. Thomas Jefferson
4. Strasburg
5. Poquoson
6. Glenvar
7. Armstrong
8. Radford
9. Gretna
10. Clarke

Solely, based on gut feeling. I didn't put too much effort into this. Kept Graham at 1 until proven otherwise. Union will be on their heels with what they return. TJ and Armstrong dropping down from class 3 definitely makes Region A much tougher. Not too sure on the Region C schools, but I know Glenvar returns their QB and Radford was fairly young this year, I believe

Radford was young but they lose most of their veteran line. Starting running back is officially transferring to Northcross. Hearing a few others may as well. QB is very overrated. Daddyball crept in with a few coaches this year. Overall unit of guys lacks a leader. Radford will not be a top 10 team next year.

Graham reloads. They’re number one until someone proves otherwise. TJ coming down could be a threat.

1. Glenvar
2. Union
3. Graham
4. Radford
5. Strasburg.

That's all I've got....

Graham seems to get better each year as the year progresses. They return most of their line on both sides of the ball. They will lose some athletes in Chris Edwards, Blake Graham and Jamel Floyd. They will lose Omarri Hill, perhaps the best DL in 2A in the state, Yubrenal Isabelle, a first team All State Linebacker and a few other quality ball players. They will still be in the mix again, they have some young talent waiting in the wings with the names of Bradshaw, Banks, Palmer (Big names in Graham football history) and others. By the end of the season, the young talent might be enough to get them to that last game, but it will be a battle to get there.

Thomas Jefferson and Armstrong will both be very very good. Both were young this year. Not sure what region they’ll be in, but I believe either/or will represent the eastern side of the state in the C2 championship.

I definitely think Graham getting back to Salem will be a task next year but not saying it can’t happen but they’ll be a lot of tough opponents to get by in order to do that. Every year they lose what most think is talent that can’t be replaced but it seems, those shoes get filled and Graham has a successful season.

They're both in Region A

Graham is number 1 until defeated...2 through 10 is a jumble. Class 2 is the deepest division!

Graham is a machine right now that is producing quality football players. From the middle school up, the kids are working year - round and showing up for weightlifting and conditioning. They are coached well and they preach "family". If the current group of kids from middle school on up stay with it and the coaching staff can stay together for the most part, this year's title will not be the only one to come in the next few years. If you want to beat Graham, you had better get them this upcoming year (and that won't be an easy task), because the next 3 or 4 years after that.....watch out.

Which running back?

I think Union comes out of region D next season.
This would not be surprising! They’ve got a lot of talent coming back & they’ll be hangry to knock Graham out. Graham has some key players graduating. I’ll be interested to see who steps up to fill those shoes. Graham also has some talent returning. I’m very excited to see Gabe Lilly’s Senior year and get weekly look at the younger Nash. I heard he’s just as good as his brother. Immaturity may hamper Graham with that big class of 8th graders coming in but we’ll see. I’m curious if Graham fields a JV team. I would think they’d have the numbers next year where they didn’t this year.

It would be great if they could field a jv team. Get some of those kids some playing time that otherwise wouldn't. They should have plenty of youth next season. They have the majority of the line returning and both QB's, but lose the center, some very good skill players and Isabelle at LB and Hill on the DL. That cast of characters will be hard to replace. I expect the lineplay to be great again, Lilly will be great. Fix and Elich will be returing at receiver. I look for Banks to get some snaps at receiver too. I think they will lose a half a step replacing the skill players with younger less experienced (but very good) players. The big hits will be losing Isabelle and Hill. Somebody will have to step up at LB. Although Williamson looks to be a dominant DL and Chaun Dowell will be no slouch, I think Graham needs another pass rusher on that D-Line. At RB, Palmer will be the main guy and he was looking good at the end of his sophomore season. I think AJ Bradshaw gets some reps in the backfield next season too, he was riddled with injury his freshman year. That kid will be special, but he is small right now and needs to put on about 20 pounds.

All that being said, I still favor Union to come out of region D, but I would not be surprised to see Graham's youngsters develop throughout the season and make another deep run come playoff time. The future looks bright for Graham for the next few years. They should be in the mix of things for the next few seasons, barring injury or something unforseen.
