2017 Southern Classic Meet CANCELLED!!!!

B-U-M-M-E-R!!!!! Due to Mother Nature and the SUPER SOGGY weather the 2017 Southern Classic Track & Field Meet has been CANCELLED.... There is no make-up or re-schedule date..I hate this for the Seniors that were selected to participate however, the powers that be says that they look forward to hosting the event in 2018... Even though the meet was cancelled it was still an honor for all of these athletes to have been nominated and selected to attend and compete in this venue.. Good Luck to all the athletes in their upcoming Regional, Conference and STATE MEETS.... GO BLUES!!!!

Got a chance to watch the Blues throwers last Friday at Stonewall and let me tell you those guys are the real deal. As good as anyone in the state of VA at any classification!

Thanks pawfan..... These kids, Men's and Ladies really put in the work.. They really do want to be "The Best" everytime they throw!! One of our lady throwers, Tristen Clark nearly broke the school record in Shot at the Stonewall meet and eventually did break it this past week at the Rockbridge County meet with a heave of 34'-11".. Congratulations to the young lady... our Men's throwers really feed off of each other and it is competition everyday weather it's at practice or an actual meet... All three of our top throwers consistently hit 50' or better.. Two are Seniors and the Fischer kid is only a Junior and if he stays healthy it looks like he will dominate the field next season in both throwing events.... They all love to stay in the weight room which is what I think really adds to their success... It would have been great to see COOK and FISCHER line up and compete against the other kids from much larger schools in the State... I have always told my kids, it doesn't really matter who you are competing against, 1A or 6A or anyone in between.. They are the same age as you, the same size(for the most part) as you, they're in the same grade as you, the same rules that apply to you apply to them and there's no reason they should be better than you... Do your best and compete till the end, never give up, never give in and never, ever stop doing your very best just because someone else doesn't give you any credit.... The next three weeks should be fun....
