My point totals that go a long with your post.
I stopped at 5

Sherando wins
1. GW
2. Sherando 29.0
3. JF 28.2
4. Salem 27.6
5. John Handley 25.7

John Handley wins
1. GW
2. JF 28.2
3. Salem/ John Handley tied 27.6
5. Sherando 27.1

I think Salem actually wins the tiebreaker off the very odd third tiebreaker (d) which states "A team that played an opponent with an effective nine (9) game schedule(non-recognized opponent, i.e., home school or out-of-state non-public school, or inability to schedule/play a 10th game) shall be seeded ahead of a school whose opponents play 10 game schedules."

LCA is playing a 9 game schedule so if I'm reading this correctly then that tiebreaker should apply and give the seeding to Salem. (b) is H2H and (c) is common opponents so neither apply. If I'm misreading or misinterpreting and we go to (g), which is average combined power rating then I also expect that to go to Salem as I did a brief skim of the numbers from last week and I believe there is too big of a gap for Handley to pick up in a single week.

HERE WE GO....

#7 James Wood (7-3) or Orange Co. (8-2) @ #3 Jeff. Forest (8-2)
#6 James Wood (7-3) or Orange Co. (8-2) @ #2 Sherando (9-1)

#5 John Handley (8-2) @ #4 Salem (8-2)
#8 E.C. Glass (5-5) @ #1 GW-Danville (9-1)

going to be some good teams going at it. I’d think GW and Salem would be the favorites. I’ll be glued to this bracket to see who will be in Hampton first weekend of December. Good luck to everyone.

It’s lame that Handley couldn’t finish the job yesterday. I hope Salem beats them 70-0 this week. The region needed a Salem/GW final. @Chuck Vipperman (GW) can we sign a petition to get Keshawn Waller a RB #. That young freshman is the next big thing out of Danville VA.
Wow , awful presumptive that both GW and Salem would be able to just run straight through Handley and Sherando and other teams to get to region final. Handley may very well struggle if the QB is not available , but still not a pushover . Sherando is a better team than most might think. 🤔

🤷🏽‍♂️ would rather see those two teams make it. JF, Salem and GW will be more competitive with Phoebus.

Just an outsiders take:

With all the hype Region B gets this Region (D) might be the most intriguing overall.

GW played a tough OOD schedule, showed grit against MV, and have won 9 straight. I like their growth, but still have concerns about the Eagles ability to stop physical offenses.

Inconsistency is the word of the day to describe this version of Glass. It's hard to beat a team twice, so GW better not sleep on the Hilltoppers. Glass must control the ball and limit the big plays on defense. Normally, I would say this game wreaks of an upset, but Coach Lovelace's crew just haven't proven they can put it all together. Early exit for the Hilltoppers.

For all the concern Spartans fans have expressed you still have a proven commodity whose only losses came at the hands of Fleming and LCA. The Salem offense can score a ton of points, so opponents will have to score 28+ points to beat them.

Handley has the size to match up with the teams in Region D. I have only watched them on video, so I am not an expert. I like their offense if the starting QB is healthy. He can sling it and and his receivers go and get it. Darling is the type of dual threat QB that with the exception of last year's juggernaut, has given Salem's defensive scheme trouble in the past. The Judges can score, but can their defense get enough stops to get by the Spartans.

Sherando is most definitely a region champion contender. Yes, the naysayers will point to a light schedule, but this team impresses me. They are sound on both sides of the ball and have added a wrinkle of finesse to go with their normal physical nature. QB, Micah Carlson can beat you with his arm and legs. I really like the ball fakes he employs to keep the defense at home.

Kobe Mason and Owen Neal are a nice one two punch for James Wood. The defense has given up points and Sherando hit them for 35 earlier in the season. Again, it's tough to beat a team twice, but expecting a freshmen QB to pull the upset in his first playoff game may be asking too much.

Coleman, McClendon, and Marks are very valuable offensive weapons for JF. I really like how Marks moves the pocket and can throw on the run. This team has a very good mix of physicality and finesse. The defense is stout and with the exception of the last two games held their opponents under 21 points a game.

Orange has a plethora of offensive weapons in Wharton, Simms, Loveless, and Norman. Unfortunately, they don't get much time off the field as they all play both ways. The Fighting Hornets can light up the scoreboard, but have struggled defensively against the better teams on their schedule. If Orange can get their high powered offense going they have a chance at an upset. Depth and an overall physical presence for JF should carry the day.

I see no upsets in the first round, but I think some teams may be tested. Again, after reviewing video and knowing a few teams in this region well I think Region D is a bit underrated.

Been falling for Eagles Gold my whole life. Glass/GW will be a toss up. GW’s secondary better bring it or it’ll be another what if conversation until next August.
I understand fully and that's why I am hopefully optimistic. Since realignment the GW vs. Salem rivalry has been good for this forum and Region D football. The Dinwiddie and GW fan base and media developed a neat bond in the past 3-4 years. Going to miss the Eagle family and wish them well.

It was my good looks and witticisms that made this bond possible. :)

Right back at ya, Navy! We had a blast all three times up there. The only problems were the final scores.

100% agree with you. Look at the results by opponents--

GW Sherando
Dinwiddie (D4) 9-1 Kettle Run (D3) 10-0
Magna Vista (D3) 8-2 Handley (D4) 8-2
Mecklenberg (D4) 6-4 Jefferson WV (D4) 7-3
Amherst (D4) 5-5 James Wood (D4) 7-3
EC Glass (D4) 5-5 Brentsville (D3) 5-5
Staunton River (D3) 5-5 Lightridge (D5) 4-6
Bassett (D3) 5-5 Millbrook (D4) 3-7
Martinsville (D2) 4-6 Fauquier (D3) 2-8
Halifax (D4) 3-7 Warren County (D3) 2-8
Tunstall (D3) 0-10 Liberty (D4) 0-10

Total = 50-50 48-52

I'd be hard pressed to say GW has played a tougher schedule than Sherando.

Not only a tougher schedule but GW is a better team overall. The Piedmont District waters that W/L stuff down. Sherando hasn’t played anyone as good as Dinwiddie, Glass and Amherst.

Kettle Run would smoke Glass and Amherst. Dinwiddie is considerably better than both Sherando and GW.
