4D Playoff Standings-Week 9

Yea, my mistake, was looking at it from the wrong direction.

I'd guess 4D's first tiebreaker is the head-to-head, right? Just making a guess but iirc each region handles ties for the purposes of the first three games and H2H is often the first tiebreaker.
I believe it's head to head or coin flip. The Region seems to charge every yr.

Amherst would makeup 5 points in that scenario. Glass only leads by 1 point currently. I believe they finish higher in the ratings Amherst would get 22 W 2 for beating Liberty
Glass would only get 8 L 11
It will come down to what the out of district teams do. District teams won't change point standing much because both teams play the same teams.
Thanks

so we need for a couple of the other teams to lose

It helps if you if teams glass beat out of district lose. They would lose 2 points
Or one of the teams Amherst beat pulls off an upset. You would get 2 points for the W

So Lord Botetourt or Patrick Henry lose.

Yes. Very unlikely scenario, however. PH has Bburg and HV, almost no shot there unless Bburg plays the best game they've played as a program since winning state. LB has a very outside shot to drop a game to Franklin County as those games have been tight in the past (they've also been blowouts) because both teams tend to line up as mirrors of one another and occasionally FC will take LB to the wire for it but I will mention they have yet to beat LB in the five games they've played against them this century that have all taken place since 2019. I give little chance to NS beating LB.

Thanks. Losing last week hurt Amherst.

Sherando and Handley play each other. What is the math for loosing?
The loser gets 10 L one point for every game the winner won. Ex) if Handley loses they would have 10 L 9. Sherando would have 22 W 16 with the win
They are both 8-1, so it would be the reverse if Handley wins

Yo

Monticello snuck in a 34-31 victory over Orange County as well. Points should be very interesting. I'd imagine Amherst is probably out of the running but I'll wait to see the points. Orange County will almost certainly win next week (0-9 Charlottesville), wondering if Glass can still make it with a loss to Rustburg or if they are playing for the playoffs. Rustburg is no slouch but they're also comfortably in the 3C playoffs, Glass having to win to keep their season alive might be a powerful motivator for the Hilltoppers.

Glass with the big win against Heritage!
Rivalry games are crazy.

Glass gets 20 W 16 for beating Heritage. That's probably enough to clinch a spot.

Interesting. Well, then it's really just about seeding next week, the top 8 should be locked in unless Orange County is given an enormous upset from Charlottesville. I wonder if a win over Rustburg can give Glass the 6 seed and avoid first-round matchups against GW or JF, both of whom handled Glass in the regular season. Glass might want to try their luck with Sherando or Handley in round one.

I did a quick talley. Did not include all bonus points.
Orange 24.44
Glass 24.1
Mecklenburg 24
James Wood 23.66

This is just off of their individual games added to last week's ratings. Other teams were not added in but you can see how close it is.

Better check your score. I think you have the Orange/Monticello result backwards.

Can only go by the information given.

Monticello's AD and Rob Edmonds say Orange won. That seems pretty conclusive.

Orange County is a good team. I’ve heard they’ve got some quick and skilled players. May be a tough task though in the first round of the 4D playoffs assuming they get a 6, 7, or 8 seed. I could see them upsetting someone though
