The Greensville County Eagles improved their record to 13-2 overall with consecutive wins; defeating the Park View Dragons of South Hill 66-58 on Tuesday and then beating Appomattox Regional Governor's School 89-37 on Wednesday night.
Ranked #4 in the state in the latest VirginiaPreps.com 2A Hoops Top Ten, the Eagles are averaging 70.1 points per game in their first season under Head Coach Antwan Walton. By beating a Park View team ranked #8 in the state in the latest 3A Top Ten, they avenged a 19-point loss to them from earlier in the month.
In the win over Park View, reigning 2A-East Region Player of the Year Jordan Peebles finished with a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds. Chris Mason had 18 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting from three-point distance. C.J. Clayton also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Next up for Greensville is a date with Tri-Rivers District rival Southampton on the road on January 25th.
