Are we speaking of the 19-20 pod only?I'm not sure if 4A East is "down", there's no 2013 Dinwiddie in there, but maybe 5A in Richmond is just that good this year. I wanna avoid seeing any first round rematches. I'd like to see:
Louisa/Monacan
Louisa/Hanover
Louisa/EV
Courtland/Dinwiddie
Chancellor/Dinwiddie
EV/Dinwiddie
Hanover/King George
Not many intriguing first round match ups in pod 17-18.
We played until 2012, two years after Fischer left. I agree, I want to start the series back up, especially if you're about to be as talented as you say soon.I wish EV/Louisa would start playing again during the regular season. Before Fischer left they played every year
"I'm not sure if 4A East is "down", there's no 2013 Dinwiddie in there" Referring to the East as a whole.
2013 Dinwiddie crushed everyone in their path, not just Sherando. Their closest game was 21-0 over Dale. 12-2 Heritage wasn't in the game from the jump.
As long as Hatfield is there EV will be talented. He knows how to utilize his players maximum athleticism. He has gone away from his spread passing game this year to a physical pounding rushing game but he knows how to operate an offense. We played until 2012, two years after Fischer left. 2013 Dinwiddie crushed everyone in their path, not just Sherando. It looks like they averaged nearly 50 points per game. Their closest game was 21-0 over Dale. 12-2 Heritage wasn't in the game from the jump. I don't see that kind of team this year. Maybe your boys have improved to that point now, I have no true idea.

Well you know me, I'm all about saying the woulda coulda shouldas are part of the game and that great teams can make mistakes that affect outcomes of their wins or losses. But still, that 3rd QB took LT to a 10-3 record, competing with the likes of undefeated Bird along the way, so he had plenty of experience by game 13. I just feel like that Dinwiddie team would've beaten Bird that year. So far I haven't seen a 4A team of that caliber this year. And our game with them was 28-0 but we drove into the red zone 4 times and threw 5 picks with the 3rd team QB. I'm never one for the game is closer than the score, but hell it happened. Heritage took advantage of the fact that Phoebus got beat by an 8 seed Kings Fork, and they had a rematch with a terrible Denbigh team, and we played Dinwiddie. There was no one on Heritage side of the bracket. That Heritage-Dinwiddie game was as big of a mismatch as we have had in any regional final in recent memory. Heritage didn't belong there, but they took care of what was in front of them and made it there.
You may have forgotten we started the season preseason #1 in the state and our starting all state QB tore his ACL in the 3rd PLAY of the season. If that kid plays that season we could have been working on a 4 peat this year. That kid threw for 2500 yards 38 tds and 3 INTS in our offense.
Wasn't me, didn't see y'all play each other. I remember someone posting that though. I didn't see LT until the Salem game. Saw Bird against Hermitage in person and didn't think Bird was good enough to win it all again but they proved me wrong.Problem people have is the ol eyeball test. I recall last year someone wasn't impressed with us or Bird after watching us play each other. (maybe it was you) but we both went on and won state titles.

Where is Hughes now anyway? I've been wondering. I would love to have that QB problem, though. As for this year up to this point, it seems only LT has that formidable shut-down defense in the East, with maybe Monacan coming in second, but it's hard to tell with Bird and Manchester being the only good teams they played, one without Fludd. You can correct me, but I got the impression from the Monticello game and a handful of highlights of opposing teams that Hughey of LT is probably a year away from being something truly special, plus I don't think he has the receivers with reliable hands like LT has had recently. Again, correct me if I'm wrong. There're probably a few East teams this year that are capable of forcing LT to pass, so then what? It might not matter if LT's defense keeps playing well, though.
Get rid of the eyeball test, show me quality wins.
