Jeremy Roach scored 21 points and Brandon Slater scored 15 to lead Paul VI to a 69-49 win over St Stephens-St Agnes. The Panther will try to win their 1st State title since 2014 as they make their 5th straight trip to the State title game.
Slater scored seven of his 15 points in the 1st quarter including a layup off the backboard to give the Panthers a 14-13 lead that they never relinquished. Roach had eight points in the 2nd quarter as the lead grew to 13 at halftime.
The two players scored 10 of the Panthers 14 points in the 3rd quarter as Paul VI maintained their margin for the remainder of the game. Slater did not play in the 4th quarter and his status for the championship game is unknown.
Miles Latimer and Avery Ford gave Paul VI some good minutes off the bench especially on the defensive end combining for 15 points, seven rebounds and four blocks.
