When it's all said and done Maury will advance to Class 5 state championship game, Oscar Smith will advance to class 6 state championship game, and Kings Fork will advance to class 4 state championship game.
I wouldn’t count it this!

When are they going to change the championship game sites again? It seems odd and a bit unfair that OS and Maury get home field EVERY year. I'd love to see Clas 5 and Class 6 championships at Liberty U.
Let 3 and 4 go to Norfolk!

travel + gas = no

travel + gas = no
What I'm talking about is the State Championship GAME sites. Everybody travels in Classes 5 and 6 except the Eastern Region schools. Usually Oscar Smith and Maury. It would be nice to have the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME site rotate so teams from Central Va to Northern Va don't have to travel SO FAR. In this case travel + gas =no, makes no sense! Unless it means that the Eastern Region Schools can't afford to travel outside of the 757? Ridiculous!

The last time the State Championships was outside of the 757 was 2015 when class 5 and 6 played the championship games at UVA. 7 years straight 4 years at Hampton University and 3 at Old Dominion. The Old Dominion site is Maury's HOME FIELD! It's set up to accommodate those guys and everybody else has to pay out a bundle to get there...

It's not that far for, let's say Highland Springs! For Heaven's sake, HS likes to travel! I feel for the team up North to travel there. It's a long ride for Stone Bridge and their followers and the Northern Region Class 6 teams. They have to travel 150- 200 miles ONE WAY. All while the Eastern Regional teams sit back, relax and spend ZERO $$$....

springer76, I am in your corner on this but there is one huge factor in the way. NOVA does not have many stadiums that can hold 7-10,000 fans. Some could make it happen with adding additional seating, but then parking is a huge issue. I was at a Westfield-Robinson playoff game in the early 2000's. Westfield holds somewhere around 6000, but for this game they were lined up 5-8 deep all along the fence and standing on the nearby hill/baseball bleachers. My guess is over 8000. But the parking? I got there over an hour early and already had to park in the office building parking lots down Stonecroft Blvd. I did get a seat that early, but a lot of people arrived after that. And Westfield's parking lot is one of the largest HS lots in the county. Centreville is a bit larger stadium than Westfield but has only about 75% of Westfield's parking and even regular season games see cars parked all over the adjacent neighborhoods. Woodson and Chantilly have good sized stadiums, but the parking there is also less than Westfield. And on and on. Battlefield, Patriot, etc. might make it work for parking with some creativity but the stadium would need lots of extra seating brought in.

Is JMU closer to Nova?
Yes. I don't know the reasons why they don't use JMU but my guesses are 1) JMU is perennially in the FCS playoffs and hosting, and/or 2) is getting to JMU from the eastern part of the state too difficult? JMU is about a 2 to 2.5 hour ride from most of NOVA, whereas ODU/Hampton is 3.5 to 4.5 hours from NOVA (again, depending where you start from).

What happened with UVA? In the past, there have been quite a few State level games played in the Richmond area. City Stadium, Hovey Field (VUU), VA State University in Chesterfield, Co., UofR, Randolph Macon U., Hermitage HS.
Highland Springs' New stadium seats 8,000. They are building a new sports complex in Henrico Co. and Chesterfield Co. has a sports plex now, not sure if it has a stadium though.

JMU is no longer in FCS
so if NOVA can go to Tidewater sometimes Tidewater can go to NOVA.

The championship games should be played In central Virginia at U of R because it is located at good middle point for NOVA teams and 757 teams.

Freedom
Maury is probably correct
The winner of 4B will be severely battle tested
Freedom is not in tidewater region. My original post was teams in class 4, 5, and 6 that will make it to the championship game from tidewater. Green Run is not going to beat maury in the playoffs. Oscar Smith toughest opponent before the championship game might be Thomas Dale because other than OS, tidewater class 6 is weak. It is a toss up for class 4 because kings fork will have to beat Varina or Dinwiddie to make it to the championship game.

The state semis Smith would presumably have to play Freedom. Can’t sleep on KG either

Who is going to beat any of those teams that l listed.
Having seen Dinwiddie, King George, Thomas Dale, Manchester, and OS& Varina, there is no way I’m automatically putting Oscar smith and Varina in the state finals. To be fairly honest, Mountain View coming out of Stonebridge’s region is not going to be an easy game for Highland Springs either. We are going to see exactly what Oscar smith has Friday night. Jmo
