A question for the forum members.

Yes exactly equal...you can't pick and choose which Amendments you want to apply, randomly. So at least you partially see the hypocrisy in the situation.

And, as expected, in your typical fashion, you denigrate to labeling me. Demented. I offered a respectful opinion on the topic and never once resorted to name calling, labeling or unnecessary posturing.

And now I'm finished. But, with one caveat, I don't have to offer "the very best to you and yours" as a means to kick dirt over any of my comments, because I haven't said anything that anyone could deem as disrespectful.

Carry on.
Oh wait? Are we saying the high school English teacher cant correctly interpret the US Constitution? He has no business teaching English, History, or Government classes. He might be okay teaching Math, he caught me slipping on that.

The wording of the second amendment is frustrating. It is not clear. It is a run on sentence that should have been broken up. Shame on Mr. Madison. So to understand it's meaning you must investigate original intent. Madison never offered a restrictive gun law. In fact no effort was made to restrict gun ownership anywhere in the country until 1837 in Georgia where they attempted to outlaw hand guns. This law was ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. So it seems fairly clear there was no original intent to allow outright prohibition of guns. If people want to change this, fine, pass an amendment. Don't expect unelected judges to manufacture law that restrict the 2nd amendment.
