ACTS Eagles 50 FCA Bucks 0

Was gonna post this score on the private score page but thought some of you folks in the Staunton/Riverheads/Gap area might appreciate it. ACTS Eagles out of Staunton knocked off the FCA Bucks out of Georgetown, Delaware in the ECC Homeschool Bowl in Quantico, Va. It was a complete beatdown and could have been even worse. ACTS is coached by former Buffalo Gap head man Bill Shirley and, compared to the other homeschool teams I saw today, ACTS has that old school power run game mentality which will serve them well in the years to come. Even the PA guy mentioned that the rest of the ECC better be wary in the years to come. Congrats Eagles!

In the ECC Champship game I witnessed some of the most atrocious football I've seen for a while as two fun gun teams threw incompletions for the better part of two hours. In the end, the Virginia Beach (TEACH) Breakers knocked off the defending champion Central Maryland Christian Crusaders 10-2. The Breakers lone touchdown came on a fumble return and they nailed a 44 yard field as time expired in the second quarter.

Personally, I'd compare homeschool football to low tier 1A here in the state of Virginia currently.

Looks like ACTS finishes ranked 15th in the nation for homeschools. Give it a year or two and I think they'll be top ranked.

I do not doubt it. Honestly, I thought they looked better than the two teams in the championship game. I'm still blown away by the fact that the Virginia Beach team beat them twice as they didnt impress me at all, none of the teams did outside of Staunton. Perhaps early season jitters as I doubt most of these kids had ever played organized football before. They looked on point Saturday though.
