After watching MV vs Salem. .....ugly

They didn't have their starting QB or RB due to injuries. I remember Magna Vista looking terrible in the 3 way scrimmage with Brookville and Salem in 2014 and they won it all. I'm not saying that will happen this year, but nobody has played an official game yet. Who picked Blacksburg last year after starting 2-4?
Seems to me like they're still very young. 3 receivers are sophomores #5,17,18. Qb was sophomore. Just don't have many play makers right now but they will get better. If scales can come back to full strength it will help. I think next year and year after will be very good for the warriors.
Who picked Salem last year after losing to AMHERST?
It was close at 14-7 a few minutes into the 2nd quarter. I think that's when MV got pinned deep, had a short snap on a punt and Salem blocked it. Once Salem got a lead and they knew MV was going to pass because they didn't have a running game without Scales, they just pinned their ears back and came after the young QB. The WR's were young and had some drops and the secondary for Salem did a very good job with tight coverage. Salem still has room for improvement and Magna Vista will probably be a different team with the QB and RB back. Heritage, Staunton River, Brookville, etc... all look to be challengers in 3A, maybe by the end of the year Magna Vista will be in the mix as well.
Salem isn't the 2x defending champ and the #1 4a team over Dinwiddie, Lake Taylor, and Monacan for NOTHING! MV will be back.
Magna Vista will be in the hunt by the end of the year. With a healthy Scales they are one of the best teams in state.
