It was close at 14-7 a few minutes into the 2nd quarter. I think that's when MV got pinned deep, had a short snap on a punt and Salem blocked it. Once Salem got a lead and they knew MV was going to pass because they didn't have a running game without Scales, they just pinned their ears back and came after the young QB. The WR's were young and had some drops and the secondary for Salem did a very good job with tight coverage. Salem still has room for improvement and Magna Vista will probably be a different team with the QB and RB back. Heritage, Staunton River, Brookville, etc... all look to be challengers in 3A, maybe by the end of the year Magna Vista will be in the mix as well.
