Who would have thought the East would have been so mismatched? Galax is down. Even their coach will admit that, but they ran through like no problem. (They are my pick for the title)
Radford has virtually no offense to speak of and still managed a two point game.
Well done by both teams.
Between those two, Giles, and Blacksburg things look better for Western VA soccer than they have in a long time.

Yes, a bit surprised that both West teams pulled it out (and appears to have been solid wins). However, congrats to both Galax and Radford. Last I heard, it was like 3-3 in OT.

I was not there so I cannot speak as to any details of this years match but I will say that in years past the West teams (well, mainly Radford) get to play states at home almost every year it seems. Literally, at home while the East travels 3 to 6 hours.

How many times have the Bobcats played on those fields in the last 20 years? - (I hear they now play on a new field at Radford now instead of that massive one -ok a bit better). Hmm, I am sure that they have not ever practiced on any of those fields. That would give them an advantage. I am sure that they would not ever use their home referee association that is like from 20 minutes away.

Again, I wasn't there so it could have been all fair and good but anyone who does not think these aspects make any difference in the outcome of a major competitive contest, well, that person may not be the sharpest tool in the shed...

They move to 2A now so it doesn't matter anymore.

The officials for the final were not local. As far as the field, I made the same case several years back. No other location bids to host the 1A/2A Jamboree, so Radford it is. That isn't even related to the school though. That is VHSL
