Altavista vs. Essex Round 2

I think Altavista will win this one.

Essex's big line will cause problems for Altavista. The line is small and Essex will be able to move the ball. A couple will timed passes could open up the game, the Colonels secondary looks in the backfield a lot. But Altavista's defense has had a bend don't break attitude all season and I think'll they'll keep Essex from the end zone enough.

Altavista's depth of speed will be hard for Essex to handle. Altavista has more players that can score from anywhere on the field than Essex.

I think it's going to be a close, hard fought game. It should be the best team either teams faced this season. I think the difference could be in special teams and I've got to give that to Altavista's Allen. He finally got what he's been looking for all season, a kickoff out the back of the end zone in the air last week and he's pinning teams deep. Punting the ball, he can flip the field and he kicks high school return on punts have been not there this year.

I think Altavista 24-Essex 14.

There have been several comments about Essex's front line having the advantage over the Colonels....a week ago I would have agreed with you, but after seeing the way that the Colonels line handled a far more superior front line at Honaker, I will have to say the Colonels front men have been battled tested Honaker, Parry McCluer, and Dan River. The Colonels rotate the linemen in very well so that they don't get wore down. I really like the Colonels chances tomorrow in Salem.
