Martinsville is looking for a head football coach. Current head coach is leaving next week. Coach Tanner will be missed, he was making alot of strides in getting the interest back into the program especially at the middle school and jv level kids. Wish him luck and hopefully we can find someone to keep this momentum going. Got to get numbers back into the program.

Wow he wasn't there long. It is amazing how far Martinsville has fallen from the glory days of the 80s and 90s. Who are some potential candidates for this job?

Did he announce where he was going? If he is leaving right now, it must be to take a different job.

The year was 2005. Long time Mavahi football coach, Taylor Edwards, was winding down towards the end of his career and the Dogs finished 4-6. It was his only sub .500 season in his 25 years at the helm. In fact, it was only the 3rd sub .500 season at Martinsville in more than 50 years.

Fast forward to the present. There have been 10 sub .500 seasons, and 4 head coaches, since Edwards retired in 2006.

I never thought Martinsville would drop off that far. They are still good in basketball so surely they still have the athletes to be good in football. Can they get their next Taylor Edwards with this next hire?

John Battle coach Britt Stone has resigned and the Trojans are now looking for a head coach as well.
