Hayfield

I usually agree with a lot of things you opine...but this is something else.
I'm going to guess, because of your writing background, this was your sarcasm gift shining through? We've improved in quite a few areas, but we're FAR from perfect or finished in terms of race relations. BOTH sides have work to do. WE ALL CAN DO BETTER....it DOES exist Ken...seriously.
I would rather face 10 million racists than 1 more Black man with a gun pointed at me demanding my belongings. Get out of your own nightmare. No one is required to like any person for any reason and LIKE or DISLIKE is not more dangerous than the guns and bullets that Black people are using on each other. I was in West Germany 27 years after the end of WWII and until 1989. I've played football on 2 continents. Germans have a better record of being human with me than my own family members let alone members of the Black community. Get off of it please. If you want to create a new world where we are not a real danger to each other you are one step from a new type of Disneyland. Meanwhile we can pretend that street gangs are there for the common good.

I believe I'm more confused about the point that you were trying to make more than ever before. One of the pitfalls of "reading" ones written words.
Have a great day Ken...FWIW, I've had African American friends treat me a lot better than blood related family members. GOOD PEOPLE don't come in a specific color.

Dr King’s best words were, (paraphrased), judged by your character, not the color of your skin.

Tell em all to stop shooting each other unless you have not heard about hmgun biolence and while you are at it get my kids and my brother to give me my money back.

He's so cocky and arrogant that when Hayfield lost to that private school from Maryland the other week, he posted on his social media that their 30 something game winning streak was over. Obviously we all know that Hayfield didn't win that many in a row. He was referring to his own personal record, which in my personal opinion was what he really cared about. Tooting his own horn.
Uhhhhh, what good coach isn't?? LOL, is it that he just isn't trying to hide it, or isn't humble, and that pisses people off?

In the real world that we live I have people in my own family that are members of secret societies that like other Black people as much as you would like to eat a rotten meat sandwich. All they do is lie, steal, cheat, lie and then lie about stealing and cheating. In the real world Black on Black gun violence and money based crime has been a real thing that happens forever and when caught racism is the word of the day. MLK would drop dead if he knew what goes on today. His words will not make this reality go away. Forgive? Sure. Pretend that it is not happening in every aspect of Black society including the school system? Not on your best day.

I would think that the only way that the courts would intervene is if there is there is a violation of law? When you are voluntarily a member of an organization, (the VHSL), and you have agreed to abide by their rules, and it has been proven in the eyes of that organization that you did in fact violate the rules that you agreed to, I don’t see where the courts have any authority to intervene.
The courts should not consider the guilt or innocence of Hayfield, only that the League rules and policies were adhered to.

My guess is that FCPS will first seek an injunction to delay the playoffs to give the courts time to review their evidence that they put forth that they have been wronged unfairly, and illegally.

Hayfield UpdateFCPS, on behalf of Hayfield, has filed an injunction against the VHSL to insert Hayfield into the 6A State Playoffs. Robinson would be removed and the opponents rematched in Region C potentially delaying the playoffs statewide. The court will decide on
What do Fairfax County residents think of this? This situation would be comical were it not so sad?

I wonder where they filed the injunction. I wouldn't think a Fairfax Court could hear the case. This could surely cause a delay in the playoffs if the judges are forced to recuse themselves. If the Fairfax Court does hear it and rules in Hayfields favor the VHSL could simply issue forfeits on Friday thus eliminating the issue.

Personally, I find this strategy interesting. There has to be way more to this story than meets the eye. The VHSL and Fairfax Schools utilized the appeal process as designed and a decision was rendered by their peers.

Unless an egotistical idiot is in charge, (I have no clue) there is no way a member school system totally ignores it's membership agreement and jeopardizes other Fairfax County School participants. If the Courts uphold the injunction for which they have no jurisdiction to do so it will set a precedent for every player ejection, or team sanction in the state. Oh my!

I mean this most sincerely. You have experienced a traumatic experience and have yet to deal with it. It could have been a dark purple person with green hair to rob you, and that's who you would dislike. Having a gun pointed at you is a very traumatic event, and unless dealt with, it can cause ongoing trauma. I don't consider what you're saying disrespectful, hateful or even ignorant. You are a man who was traumatized by an individual who happened to be a black man, and I pray you can somehow come to terms with your trauma. Peace bro

Best that I can figure this is a CYA from FCPS administrators looking for a crutch for their line "we exhausted all options". I do not know the relationship between the Fairfax County boards. Are both supervisors and school board elected? If both are elected the taxpayers should let their voices be heard at the ballot box.

As an outsider I will throw my two cents in. We as an American society tolerate breaking the law most of the time when the law is broken in small ways. If the speed limit is 65 and you are going 70 you are not going to get pulled over even though you are breaking the law. But if you go 90 you are getting pulled over. DO was going 90 in a 65 and got pulled over.
Greatest analogy yet!

Both County Supervisors and School Board are elected separately in Fairfax County, though the School Board is ostensibly non-partisan..., but not really . The superintendent has been here a little over two years and the system has ~183,000 students with ~40,000 employees across all full and part-time positions. This is whole thing is becoming very well known across the various high school parent groups in the county (athletic booster clubs and PTSAs), along with the fairness implications for raising up student athletes who do play by the rules. After all, aren't they supposed to be students first?

Exactly what I was thinking. There are people trying to save their jobs now, since they opened Pandoras Box.

If that injunction clears, and Hayfield gets reinserted I can only imagine the crying and complaining this thread go render smh. Yall really thought them people was going to bow out that gracefully? Meanwhile the VHSL is letting corruption spew across the entire state in various sports and schools. Stop it! Fairfax County is involved. Big Money is involved. Reputations, Professional and Executive Level integrities have been challenged, and now here we are. When Fairfax County Govt & Public Schools cleared them people, and VSHL decided to come and get involved late in the season like this was it caused a huge issue, and I'm willing to bet my life (And I love me some me) some high price attorneys are drawing up major litigation infractions on the VHSL. You can't let people like LCA get away with athletic murder, and condemn others. That's why I used the Nino Brown from New Jack City analogy last week. And that's why that Top executive women retired who had been with the VSHL since 1969 this past year. Them people in Charlottesville at the VSHL Headquarters don't got time for this stress and hot mess lol. They want the VSHL to go back to the Remember the Titans days when it went accordingly to the Good Ol Boy ways.

I agree! There has to be money involved for FC to go after the VHSL. When you start digging, a lot of BS is going to be uncovered. So much for amateur sports these days.

IF that injunction is granted, likely a big IF, the only ones guaranteed to make any money will likely be the attorneys. For FC this is likely much more about trying to save face and maybe some jobs.

Let me get this straight. Many school systems can barely fund athletic programs and clearly are not making bank at the gate, but a father is seeking damages to the tune of 1 million dollars + for lost revenue for his two sons. Damn, they must have some serious NIL deals in NOVA.

Lots of money in northern Virginia.

If coach Overton would like to showcase his record and how great his team is, there are plenty of teams in North Carolina or South Carolina he could schedule. For instance coach Tommy Knotts' Dutch Fork team out of Irmo, SC would play him.
