Salem
This will probably be answered by OMHDC, since he should have seen him play at the REC level last year? He should be playing on ALMS 7th grade B team this year maybe. He's Isaiah Harris' younger brother, combine him with Lewis Ramsey and Salem will have a potent running combination through the pipeline for several more years. Alex Ramsey and Clayborne, R. Fox, Howell, Swaine, Burnette, Deangelo Ramsey, Robinson, Lewis Ramsey, Harris, all coming in the next several years from now through the next 6 years. There are probably many others to put on this list that I've forgotten or haven't seen or heard about.

I didn't know about Isaac till tonight when I met his mom at CVS. Coincidentally, it's also where I met Rich Fox, Coleman and Riley's dad a year or so ago.

I think this year with Alex Ramsey , Riley Fox , Clayborne, and possibly Howell . Also, I think you will see a few surprises as usual with people stepping up , working extra hard in the weight room. The big key will be the offensive line, with Barnette and Wall returning, along with the QB . I know Noah Beckley went to Steve Spurrier camp and has looked pretty good. You have got a couple of junior returnees also so that battle will go on. I really hope the depth of defense improves , sort of lost some last year with injury to Coleman and a couple of other issues but you go with what you got.

He will be in 8th grade this fall. Very strong kid with speed. Runs over people with a smile on his face.

From what I understand there is a transfer from Virginia Beach who is stout linebacker and Or running back possibility?

I've heard that as well, I was thinking he was from out of state, but everything else you have is exactly what I heard. They are so stacked at those positions with Ramsey, Fox, Howell that are FB/LB already. There will be so much competition this summer for certain key positions. I think the secondary is the biggest unknown, most other positions seem like they will be very solid.

Neighbor's kid played with him, he's a beast. Not sure about the size just given family history but no doubt he'll probably have the speed.

Of course he's stout he came from Virginia Beach!!! I mean if you are going to leave the beach and go to Salem, VA you have to be a player right?? This whole thread is a microcosm of why people don't like the Salem faithful. Looks like there will be four more years of threads about this Harris kid because you guys are writing and raving about a kid going to the 8TH GRADE!!!! Let the young man take a varsity snap before he's the next big thing, if he doesn't pan out will everyone admit they were wrong??? Probably not, it will be lets rave about this kid which is as bad as colleges offering kids in MS we don't know what the future holds for this kid. Lastly, biggest knock coming from the state championship game was Salem lacked SPEED, yet almost every thread about Salem speed is brought up because Salem got faster here, or that kid is faster there, its like the fans are trying to convince themselves that speed won't be the detriment again this year. You guys lost a slew of Srs that were the backbone of your program, yet people now are acting like those loses won't affect them this year as this group is bigger faster stronger hungrier. I'm not buying it you lost your top 2 WR, QB, RB, OL, LB, DE guys that have been the face of your program they are not easy to replace.

Who cares if people don't like Salem posters or what they post? It's the off-season, nothing to talk about I was just curious how he's looked on the field. People in Salem like anywhere else get excited to see new blood in the system. I don't believe anyone made any grandiose statements about this kid or anyone else. No one said Salem will win a championship, or the North, or a playoff game this year, so why the animosity and attack. The funny thing about these boards is you don't have to like what you read, no one forces you to read these annoying Salem posters, so spare yourself the trouble and IGNORE US!

When is your novel coming out about Salem, Vurginia? I mean you are obviously an authority on just about anything! Unbelievable!

Just saw this Mike. I'll be brief. Isaak's biggest asset presently is that he's a great kid. He's built like his dad, quick feet and he's tough to bring down. He doesn't stop moving until he really down. Time will tell. His speed of course, isn't 757 by any means. Nothing is!

Again, he's a great kid and a great citizen!

I'll take this time to remind everyone you're a grown man coaching children and you consistently manage to act like those you coach.

Let's not even pretend you aren't scouring these boards day and night for any perceived slight so you can wind up another boring, generic diatribe of babbling nonsense slathered with heaping spoonfuls of your insane levels of insecurity piled on top. I can't tell if you manage to rattle these off like some kind of horrible idiot savant or if you've got some sad text file you just copy and paste parts from then go back and toss in random capitalized words and a bunch of commas.

And lets not pretend that some of you live in your tiny little box and think that Salem football is still the end all be all and everyone wants to read about a thousand posts about them on a daily basis. I do a very good job coaching my unit up sir as you can see my OL and DL had a good day in Dec. so it doesn't matter what you think about me personally. When it comes to coaching X' and O's I get the job done!!! As far as my comment again lets not get all gushy over a kid in the 8th grade which obviously some of your lives are so sad that you just sit around and get excited projecting what 11 and 12 year old kids will be IMHO you are just as sad as these colleges and scouts ranking, rating, and offering MS kids. All spring there have been numerous posts about Salem and every post has something to do with Salem having speed which is funny. Bottom line there is strength in numbers and you Salem guys will just gang up on me, but unlike others it doesn't bother me what names you call me or have to say. I am well respected by my players and in my community and what some computer has beens have to say doesn't bother me one bit. I'm trying to win another state title!!!

Avoidance

With a post titled, "Anybody in Salem..." it would have been so easy for you to avoid this topic altogether. There are a lot of Salem posters, currently we don't have our own board so we post in the appropriate forum. You're welcome to read or ignore whatever posts you like, I just find it amusing you felt compelled to comment. Your disdain for Salem posters on this board is duly noted, I feel safe in saying the feeling is mutual.

I'm sure you are a great coach. Lake Taylor was extremely well coached and I don't want to sound that I am patronizing you but your last statement said it all. I am trying to win. Are you doing this for you or the players? The kids! Most Salem fans I know are fans of the kids whether they play football or go on to play it in college or not. No Salem fan or coach that I have seen did not say anything bad or misleading about this great Norfolk team. Make us believe that you are for your players more than yourself!.I can guarantee you that I did not here one bad thing about Lake Taylor players from Salem fans except they were very tough and well coached.

Re: Avoidance

I know Mike and you are right but this kind of stuff is nauseating to the point he should be a "labeler" in congress.

Re: Avoidance

Honestly Mike you are probably one of the only Salem fans I actually can stomach a post from. The majority of the rest are living in the maroon and white world and honestly make excuses when someone comes up here and makes a ridiculous claim or spouts off at the mouth and the first response is "they aren't a Salem fan"!! The same way that you find it amusing I commented I find it amusing to read a daily or week by week account of Salem football. People have run away from the boards because it is loaded with Salem fans that when you don't see their views its attack mode. Obviously I didn't have to deal with you all on the old boards but since we are all in 4A I see the craziness first hand. What ever happened to all those Salem fans that had a lot to say before the title game? Honest question, are there people who sign on to Preps that hate Salem, create user names talk trash on Salem's behalf, just because they hate Salem that much and want other people to hate Salem also? If so, that shows how crazy it is in that neck of the woods!!

And honestly where have I said Salem has a bad program? I had the opportunity to talk to Coach Mags at the all-state meeting two years ago and I really thought he was very honest and insightful. I think the Salem kids played very hard last December and were a class act, but as far as some "fans" or people that were pretending to be "fans" goes that is another statement. With all due respect you guys had an awesome core of players last season that graduated yet the talk has been some kids that have no experience at all are just going to step in and give you what what years group did or even better is a bit premature in my eyes and disrespectful to what those kids accomplished last season. While you perceive I am knocking Salem its a matter of maybe those kids accomplished something last year that was special and now its like naw this team is faster bigger smarter and they haven't played a down yet its March going on April. I said in my original post Salem lost a lot of key players that were the face of the program that will be hard to replace and may take some time to get it together. Maybe some of these "fans" are putting a lot of high expectations on a team that may struggle out the gates. As far as the young kid goes I just have never been a huge fan on predicting excellence for a kid in MS. I remember I had a boy growing up that was 6'2 in MS and dunking on everyone and was the next big thing yet by the time we graduated I swear he was 6'0 and didn't go anywhere too much pressure and hype at a young age. I'm not saying this is that kids future, but I just feel like that's a lot of pressure on a young kid. Read a story a couple of weeks ago about the QB Lane Kiffin offered when he was in like diapers basically he's serviceable now, but not going to USC.

Read the posts from Mike Salem " one great year, One good year!" We expect a lot and are spoiled but those thoughts come from you, not Salem fans. Your arrogance of how you perceive is getting the best of you. Maybe

Arrogance? I don't come up here and talk about how great I am or how great my team is on a daily basis. Hell I have an 8th grader in my class right now that could have started at WR on varsity last sea on he's that big and physical and a great athlete, but he don't have any hours as my college teammates used to say. We have a pretty great core of players coming back and a bunch of them have 2 state championship rings, but I don't feel the need to come up here to brag and boast. I'm far from arrogant, but again that's a perception that a lot of people out your way have about us folks in the East. It's like the North/South thing I go up North and people think because you live in the South you a little bit slower and not as quick on your feet, but people in the South believe people in the North are con artists and fast talkers. Your reality is your perception!! I like how some people out West are now concerned with the speed factor because even in this thread when describing someone speed was brought up. What's with the fascination all of a sudden with speed when before the title game all the talk was of being physical and speed meaning nothing when you get punched in the mouth. Now every kid is speedy, yet when I bring up that fact I'm attacked. Does Speed really matter now in you honest opinion?

I'm afraid I don't understand why this post was necessary or even warranted. I can understand fans without perspective. Not from a Coach. You make LT look bad. You really do.

I've made mistakes here in the past. Absolutely admit it. But I'm not a Coach. You need to leave. I've found insight in many of your posts. You often bring knowledge and reality that I appreciate. When others have been offended, I have not. Not that my opinion matters, but a Coach that presents himself in the manner you did in this last post is wrong. Actually, some valid points poorly presented and absolutely wrong for a Coach. Period.

You're a weird, creepy coach picking arguments with random fans over things that didn't even begin to involve your team. HTH

Man I make LT look bad. These are my personal opinions and don't reflect on the LT program at all. The kids are the ones playing and if you don't agree with what I say then don't agree. Simple as that, so the same came be said when you or anyone else comes up here and makes statements people deem absurd and I can say you making a program look bad. Because I am a coach that means nothing because this message board does not in any shape of form impact my performance as a coach. I asked a question point blank period yet those who feel offended instead of answering the question jump straight into attack mode. Just answer the question.

So not agreeing with you all is creepy? LOL!!!! I don't sit around all day at football games hailing 11 year old kids the next big thing and salivating at what he's going look like in 7 years. I would be upset if I knew an older man was on a message board talking about my young son. That sir is creepy!!

How am I reaching? It's a valid statement yet instead of coming up with a valid argument you just say you reaching. That's why I can't have a decent conversation with you all. Instead of saying point X Y Z you just say "He's a hater" "He's rambling" "He's reaching"

Please correct me if I am wrong DEVILSLB99 or have misinterpreted anything. Filtering out the editorializing, the main points were that it is a long way from the 8th grade to high school superstar, the kid might be better served if allowed to develop under a slightly less bright light and last year's Salem state championship finalist lost a lot of senior talent that will not be easy to replace,in your opinion, even with the pipeline. None of those contentions seems unreasonable on face, in my opinion.

As far as the rest goes, opinions will vary depending upon the poster's individual perspective and rooting interest. Just my opinion but, a lot of the responses reflect a disagreement with the way you chose to couch those basic points and an underlying angst with the reality that one of the best Salem teams in quite a while(if not all time) still had a ways to go to have a realistic shot at winning that final game and it begs the question as to when that could in fact be a reality in the future.

Bingo...But again I guess it all comes down to delivery, but even when delivered like this someone still will find a problem with it.

No, prowling a message board constantly looking for a chance to interject yourself into anything possible is weird and creepy. When I tell you that you're a giant tryhard it's because you are a giant tryhard and I've never seen someone try to make someone else's business their own more than you. Now quick, pound out some really long-winded reply nobody is going to read.

Like I said, you made some valid points. It's the way you made them that was inappropriate and frankly, self serving. I'm sorry, but IMO, it does reflect poorly on LT and you as a Coach of young men. Does your HC know you post here and does he read what you say? I can't imagine you'd get his approval.

But I will answer the questions. Yes, LT won because Salem didn't have the speed to keep up with them. Yes, glowing over an 8th Grader is pretty silly. Yes, because of where they play and who they play during the regular season, the Salem fan perspective is skewed.

Remember, you are the one that presented these things in an adversarial mode. It's perfectly understandable why the Salem fans wouldn't be happy with you. If you don't think it was presented in that way, give it to your HC and see what he thinks.

I prowl the message board?? Ok if you say so once again you offer no proof just name call to provide your point. Sound like my twins when they argue no substance just a bunch of name calling. If you don't want people in your "business" don't put it on a message board that people can read and reply to..DUH!!

That's your opinion and you are entitled to them. I'm an adult because I get into a debate with some people over some things does not reflect anything on LT, but if you feel that way so be it. I signed up for a message board to have discussions because I am a coach you all have to keep bringing that up and get mad when I question things. Oh well and as far as my HC goes he has a Preps membership

Delivery is correct. Absolutely wrong. Being a Coach makes it more wrong. That's why folks had an issue with it. What part of this do you not understand. The original was clearly adversarial and self serving. If you don't see that, you need to go back to school.

The irony in your post is great for laughs. You should learn to take your own advice.

Irony is correct. I have been the poster of more than one inappropriate paragraph. The difference is, I own up, admit my error, apologize and move on.

It's nice, albeit delusional, that you actually believe that to be the case. One need look no further than this current thread for the most recent evidence.

I agreed with irony and admitted to my own flaws. Grasping at straws for your own, personal vendetta is your problem. Very best in 2015.

You did agree with the irony and you did admit to some flaws, however, your final assertion is delusional and you really only need to look at your attack on Devils in this thread to see the most recent example. This observation has absolutely nothing to do with grasping at straws or any personal vendetta but, it was an attempt to get you to thoughtfully reflect. As I said before, you need to learn to take your own advice.
