From another poster, it seems the game was stopped due to an altercation with Brunswick ahead 18-6, but no information on whether the game was called final or will be completed.

Brunswick was up on Sussex Central 18-6 early in the 4th quarter before the game was called due to an altercation.

I believe it was called. Interested to see what punishments come from the fight with post season coming and Brunswick expected to be the 2 seed in 1B. Quite a few skirmishes going on the NFHS video, and majority of Brunswick bench emptying onto the field
It will be interesting. One of Sussex’s players threw the first punch and then fled which led to altercation, it wasn’t caught on camera but a flag was thrown. It was also mentioned that a Sussex coach was heard at halftime instigating and initiating the incident telling their kids that “they don’t make it out alive”.
It wouldn’t surprise me if the VHSL chooses to make an example out of someone….or it could just be a “point of emphasis” for 2025
The Sussex player did throw the first punch. #5 from Brunswick removed his helmet and spit in the face of Sussex player resulting in the punch being throw, there is zero credibility that a coach made a statement like that at halftime. Brunswick from what I heard season may be suspended totally from the incident. Please be factual and stop trying save Brunswick season with lies.
Your report may be correct, I’m just speaking on what was stated in the referee’s report on the incident which was filed. Most is speculation at this point. Hope all turns out well for both teams, especially being in the same district.
It’s sad. The referees never controlled the game from the start , if anyone is at fault I blame them.
#5’s helmet never came off in the live stream on the NFHS network, but I guess it could’ve came off before the major altercation.
Just an emotional game with a lot of history between the two, especially with last year in mind. A whole bunch of factors.
