Not much being said about this game. Should I just roll over and goto bed or will this game be electrifying?

Appo should win by 15+. I expect the battle in trenches to be close but edge to
Appo. Not sure which team will be able to lean on their depth with graduations and injuries but Appo has handles both games with ease and I think a few wrinkles will be on display. Heritage will have to get to the perimeter and outraced Appo. No home run threats in Pioneer orange and blue but paper cuts can hurt too.

No homerun threats? You must not know who Kyron Thomas is. Ran a 4.4 laser time at camp in Maryland.

I respect a 4.4 and straight speed. I also realize his 4.4 has to get loose and do it consistently. He has not replaced the threat of Elijah Davis. Blake the QB is versatile but this is not a race. I expect Appo will know and see all the film but being fast and making it happen to the point of breaking down the D is different. Two different aspects not mutually inclusive.

I don’t think Appomattox is where they were last year at this point for the mere fact our #1 is not the same. Scruggs was an X factor that you just couldn’t count out.
We got to be on our game this week, this will be much greater of a measuring stick than the first two weeks were.

LOL well when you put it like that, I guess you're right. I didn't know your definition of "home run threat" was so in depth and different. I took it as you meant that HHS didn't have a guy capable of taking it the distance any time he touches the ball, you know, like an actual home run. Thus the metaphor of a "home run threat."

The first two weeks allowed me to alot of strengths that in my opinion was not present at this time last year. No we don't have Scruggs but I do see a more unfied team that that more closely resembles the 2015 team. So I am very encouraged by that is my main reason I say we are at a better position now than last year at this time. Yes I agree we have alot of learning and growing to do
Tre may not be another Scruggs but he handles himself very well for being a freshman. I know coach Smith will bring him along and we will continue to see Tre grow in many ways.

I believe another factor may be the weather if not rain could humidity and the presence of volumes of sweat affect the offenses?

Certainly it could have an effect on defenses too. Hopefully neither team will have a heat related problem.

I'm extremely pleased with how Tre has played. He even now is better than some more seasoned QB's and he probably has one of the higher ceilings in the state for just how good he can be. I'm sure Doug is working a lot with him to get him where he can go.
I think this week will be a great measuring stick for us (that's win or lose). I have no doubt the boys will continue to grow each week and when November rolls around they will be a force to be dealt with.

Will be there.
Got one boy (Soph) on JV that also plays Var and my oldest is a Senior on Varsity

Appomattox will probably win 4-6 2a state championships in a row and I can say that because this is not my team. That freshman QB is a phenom, the lines are huge, and they have speed and are aggressive as they come. They would be 3a and 4a contenders. I am highly impressed with that program.

Next year they should be pretty stout.
You said one on JV that also plays varsity. Does he play both? They still have 40 quarter rule dont they?
Well he is one varsity and plays some.
Having the Rustburg JV game canceled for storms saved him four quarters too.
I imagine that he might get jammed up a bit later in the season.

Heritage won 21-12 I think. They busted a few big plays to score and over all they were fast and big up front. Their receivers made our DB’s look like reck league.

Well hopefully if he is actually playing on varsity then he isnt jammed up on JV. Good luck to him and all of the Raiders tonight

Not sure what you are smoking but it must be some good stuff?Raiders have a good program for 2A,but contenders in 3A and 4A not in your wildest dreams. There are numereous programs in either classification which would destroy the raiders.

That 2016 team was something special man, I don't think it's crazy to say that team could have given the 3A winner a real game.
