APPOMATTOX/GRETNA

Hey all jokes aside, I hope you gretna area people are heeding the tornado warning. Hope all of you guys will be safe including the refs even.

Actually, a lot of them do officiate college games. But you're missing the whole point. I'm sure there were bad calls, but it doesn't matter. The game, score, nothing is going to change. So while all of these may be true, whining about them doesn't change the outcome. Like I said, I have family in Appomattox and want to see them do well.

I just have an issue with people complaining about officials and blaming them for losses and why they didn't beat a team by more. What I see when reading that is not giving the other team credit for a win or a closer game. I have been here A LOT longer than any of you, and have said the same thing since day 1, so it has nothing to do with Appomattox or Gretna, it's the subject.

And I will give you a little background on the subject. A few years ago, I was at a playoff game with my team. The absolute worst call I have ever witnessed. It was a 0-0 game and the opposing team "scored" with about 45 seconds left. I was right at the fence at goalie. The player didn't get in, but the part that was worse, is while the officials decided if he got in (It was close so a judgement call) they never stopped the clock. So 45 seconds turned to 7 seconds. And I didn't come on here and complain. Because while I say 99.9 % he wasn't in, and will go to my grave believing that. That call didn't cost them the game, they had 47+ minutes to make sure that call didn't change the outcome.
The reality is a flag could probably be thrown on every play. The ones that frustrate me the most are the no calls. The obvious hold, the block in the back, and pass interference right in front of the official and no flag. Oh and there's the.late hit after the whistle. This one can get your player seriously hurt and no flag. I am sure all of u have experienced the obvious! Frustrating for both sides and it seems to be happening more often especially when it really matters. Thoughts!!!

So very true. I saved a picture of one game showing a ref watching from about 5 feet away and a defender had his hand inside the face mask of our ball carrier and no flag thrown. Sooo obvious!!!

you say that, but maybe you should have complained.....Look...maybe Draft was playing a team THAT DANG good enough to take them down by a TD or FG. Think how many times in the NFL that a play called for review is a make it take it on the win because they are PLAYING A TEAM JUST AS GOOD. I disagree and you, but you always come on here talking crap about somebody complaining about reffing.

I will say to the day I die....refs were reason Appo didnt come away with win in Giles in 2013. Worst called game I witnessed. Did we make mistakes...yes, but we would have recovered from some blown calls. Two teams THAT DANG GOOD need a fair shake!

Yes because bitching about it does no good except to make excuses, not give the other turn credit, and make yourself look like sour grapes. But it's whatever.

Is your point at the playoff game you speak of that they were just bad? Or against Appomattox? Not the normal fan, "how much did they pay these guys to cheat us", I mean REAL dishonesty

I dont know what you do for a living? But I'm sure you wouldn't like to feel attacked every time you went to work by people who "think" they know how to do your job better. And 99% of people are the same, and not saying they shouldn't be, but they are only seeing their side of things. In MOST cases, even if a crew is having a bad night, you hear about one side complaining about THEIR flags, not both sides. Fans only see them being hosed and only pay attention to the things for or against them.

There are some sub par officials throughout the country. No argument there from me. But in MOST cases they still know more than MOST fans in the stands. That is why you always have the loudmouths from every area calling things that aren't even close
