Southampton Academy won their 2nd straight State D3 championship with defeating Isle of Wight Academy 3-1 at Shepherd Stadium in Colonial Heights.

Andrew Lowe threw a complete game while scattering seven hits with 10 strikeouts. Lowe allowed his only run after hitting the first batter in the 3rd inning. The Chargers had multiple baserunners on in both the 4th and 6th innings but Lowe was able to survive the threats.

The Chargers scored their run on a single by Austin Elledge. Their lead was short-lived however as Southampton Academy tied the game in the bottom half of the inning. Caleb Kidd walked to start the inning and the Raiders loaded the bases after a single from Sam Rose and a bunt single from Tyler Dodson. A 2-out walk by Jack Smith scored Kidd to tie the game at one.

Southampton Academy took the lead for good by adding two more runs in the 4th inning. Little doubled and scored after Kidd reached on an error at shortstop. A single by Dodson plated Kidd to give the Raiders a 2-1 lead. Dodson finished with two hits.

Alec Wonders took the lost despite giving up on one earned run. Dylan Robertson and Ryan Boyce both collected two hits.
