Just score watching but the schools in Charlottesville maybe as bad a football as ever. Some bad bad football teams.

What's the score on the Monticello game. Their kicker moved from Salem. Never has played football in his life and is doing really well made a 30 yard kick last week with 20 yards to spare

Substance came from the Dominion game. I have seen Louisa and for once they may not be overhyped they will go 10-0. The rest of the area teams are not that strong and have not been as of late. We will see how it plays out but cville has been almost as over hyped as Louisa in some years. I can see the black knights 6-4. Losses to Louisa albemarle and Powhatan. This is my substance.

I told you I don't put stock into scrimmages. Too many variables. Look say what you want the saying is you are what your record is and since 2008 the jd has a losing record in playoffs. Until the jd proves me wrong in the playoffs I stick to it being down as a while. Yes some good players in it but not good teams...except for Louisa this year. Other than last night's first quarter Louisa did appear to have a good team and they may make a run. Louisa may get have one more test next week and Powhatan. The rest will be blow outs.

As I said in another thread, Charlottesville had to practice in the gym with no pads for most of the Dominion week. They then had many fumbles and turnovers, which has been fixed. They also moved Sam Neale to full-time QB, and Davis was moved to slot (and was ecstatic, haha). Neale is a better passer. You can say you don't put stock into scrimmages, but Brookville was played like a game, with blitzing, adjustments, everything except hitting on special teams. Cville pounded them with speed and power while Albemarle took them to overtime.

Special teams is a 1/3 of the game. Louisa may not win last night of the kid makes the td catch for the foxes and the foxes don't muff the squib kick. But coaches don't show everything at scrimmages and I know most are not going to play starters even being games. Just saying a scrimmages have little bearing on how good a team is. Anyways I have given my opinion and I am done with this thread. I have not been watching teams as much this year but I will catch up after next weekend. We will see when Albemarle plays the black knights.

I can respect this for sure. Motivation. We're working. Keep your head on a swivel. ;):)

Charlottesville did look very impressive to me against Brookville in the scrimmage (for what that is worth)

I know scrimmages are basically practice against another team and a game is your best vs their best for 4Q, so we'll see.

I wouldn't say no one is any good in the JD based on 1 game this season. Charlottesville lost by 3 scores to Dominion but..Dominion is much better than their normal. Dominion's only losses were close to an undefeated Potomac Falls and also Woodgrove. PF beat perennially strong Broad Run BTW.

History tends to repeat itself.

Thanks for the memo Negative Nancy. To flip your perspective, history repeats itself if you allow it too. If you work hard enough, you can write your own history. Good Luck to your Flucos tonight, JV had some good looking players the other night. My regards to Mr. Grooms. Tough break at a young age. As great as the game is, it isn't worth jeopardizing your future. He was a fine football player and from what I hear, a better young man. I wish him the best with his future endeavors.
