44-0 all MV.. not sure if Bassett even finished with positive yardage. Alot of unsportsmanlike penalties on MV, mostly coming at the beginning of the game. Alot of hype at the start. Offense did ok, but could do better.

They getting better every week I think, hopefully by the gw game they will have it all together and make another run for state

Bassett been struggling for years with numbers. I know a couple of years they just did have enough for a JV team. To be honest im not sure why they are not 3A. According to vhsl reference its several 3a teams now with higher enrollment than bassett. I guess thats a battle their AD has to fight. I know as they are now they cant compete in 4A.

It all runs in cycles. Bassett had all kind of numbers in the mid 2000's till Boo graduated then they had a downturn in talent and the numbers dropped off. I remember around 07-08 MV was lucky to have 25-30 on the varsity, that was when they had back to back winless seasons. Also, about the school size question, I'm sure if it was anyway that Bassett could have dropped to 3A this year they would have done it. The Bengals trying to compete in 4A football now is like Patrick Co trying to compete in 3A, very hard to do with such low numbers in your program.
