Correction: Thread title should say BF 29-CDH 23.

Yes, it is the first game of the season but I did not expect this. The first half these two teams put together had absolutely no flow, as the game was interrupted for 20 penalties, all 6 of the team's allowed timeouts, and two more injury time outs. Both team's defenses looked pretty good and the only scoring plays were the result of big plays. Only a handful of first downs were gained with all the penalty flags on the field but BF managed to score on a 65 yard pass from Seagears to Perez to go up 7-0 just 4 minutes into the game. After Hylton's Slade fumbled a BF punt on the next series, BF's Berry recovered the ball at the Hylton 42. A few plays later BF's Feehan hit a 37 yard FG to push the lead to 10-0 early in the 2nd quarter. Two series later, after a BF punt pinned Hylton deep in their own territory, Slade ran 98 yards off tackle to pull Hylton to within 10-6 (missed XP) with about 7 minutes left in the half. Just before the half and aided by a pass interference call, BF managed to drive from midfield to the Hylton 10 yard line. Seagears was stopped on a dive just short of the goal and with seconds left Feehan added an 18 yard FG to push the lead to 13-6. Half.

The second half at least had some flow to it with more action. The offenses moved the ball slightly better but the defenses were still not giving up any sustained drives. There were a lot more penalties (10) and two turnovers to stop drives. Hylton's Mickens picked off Seagears on BF's first possession. BF's Setness picked off Benson in the 4th quarter on a very nice diving interception at the BF 35 to stop a Hylton drive. Late in the 4th quarter and needing a score to probably ice the game, BF started a drive at their own 35 yard line but ended up punting at the Hylton 42. Now, with time running out and Hylton needing a final drive, Benson hit Mickens on a 57 yard pass play to the BF 11 yard line with 1:07 remaining in the game. A few plays later Hinton ran it in from the 2 yard line and the teams were tied 13-13. Time for OT!

In the 1st OT Hylton scored first on a 3 yard Bridges run, then BF answered with a 10 yard Seagears to Graham pass play were Graham's second and third efforts got him into the endzone. 20-20. In the 2nd OT BF was forced to kick a 30 yard Feehan FG, then Hylton was also kept out of the endzone and had to settle for a 23 yard Thomas FG that hit the left upright and barely squeaked over the crossbar. The score was now 23-23. In the 3rd OT Hylton went on offense first and had to again settle for a 23 yard Thomas FG, but the attempt was wide left. With an opportunity to now win the game, BF's Ferrill plowed into the end zone on the second play of their series and BF took the win, 29-23.
