Most teams have completed their 6th game this season and the more things change they still remain the same! that's the way it is in the battlefield! it remains a two team top dog and the rest are not even close to JM and courtland. these two teams will march through the rest of the district until the last game of the year as they face off in the burg and that game won't be fit for the weak at heart. here we go read it and weep!
#1 JM and COURTLAND: trying my best to separate these two teams but I just cant. I believe if they played today 10 games JM wins 5 and courtland wins 5. courtland might as well say had a bye against spotsy and JM beat a decent team KG that is no way as good as JM. courtland lost a very important piece to their puzzle in one of the best receivers and safteys hokenson. after the win at Essex last week I had thought the jackets had fixed their porous defense and gave up tons of rushing yards against the foxes with 272 yards rushing by their backs with out one of the best backs in the district jecolby white not playing. I know this is bothering serbay and sure he and his good coaching is working on it and better have it fixed by the courtland game or they may never get the ball for their powerful offense to score enough to beat them. saw it on tv last night and other than the beast wynn coleman the front line is getting blocked 5 yards down field getting very little penetration. the linebackers are not filling the holes and missing tackles. I love the jackets but that bend but don't break defense will not take you far at playoff time and I know for sure the coaches will eventually find people to stop the run. one thing for sure JM has a state champion offense and the receivers are the real deal and that eura kid can tote the mail. scroggins is one of the best quarterbacks in the state and throwing pin point passes. good football team but the defense will have to start stopping the run or it will be a short playoff run.
# 3 KG: It's a shame the foxes have such a weak defense because their single wing offense is good enough to win. they are the best team after courtland and JM but not in their league. better watch out KG if the chargers keep improving they may be on your heels for third place. good team but the defense is killing you.
#4 CHANCELLOR: good win for the chargers this week but that is a very weak caroline team with only 22 players. that's ok you have to start winning to gain confidence but you will get your confidence shattered this week as you play the jackets. looks like that young qb brown is starting to do what I said he would being a elite qb and before he graduates the best qb in chancellor history. 10 of 14 passing for 272 yards and almost 100 yards rushing will only get better as he gets older. congrats. coach oliver you got them going in the right direction but you will take a big fall this week against JM.
# 5 SPOTSY: I hope you guys will round up the wagons and make a good showing the rest of the season.that was embarrassing effort last week but courtland can make you that way but no more letting down. you got to play hard all the way to the end no matter the team you play good or bad. next season will be a brighter future for the under classmen so give it all you got and remember you are playing for the red white and blue. no team should never score like courtland did with no resistance and not punt 1 time. pride pride pride in the game you play football! good luck the rest of the year.
# 6 CAROLINE: Good luck to you guys and I give you praise for the band of small troops of only 22 players for sticking out a awful season. believe it or not you have a good coach that will have your back and stay their so you won't have to put up with coaches going and coming like in the past. still got a win looking at you at home against spotsy so hang in there better days are ahead.
there you go agree or not its not hard to rank the teams this year with the exception of JM and courtland dead even. season is going by fast and with this weak district this year we may not have but 2 teams in the playoffs and that don't say much for a district over the years that was strong as any district. good luck teams!
