Bethel has hit Phoebus on a 72 yard run and now a 92 yard pass play. They have a 21-14 lead at 7:14 of the 2nd and don't seem very impressed with 3 in a row.

this is a joke right now. Phoebus looks like they woke up at 11:45 and got to the game at 12. Uninspired and unPhoebus. Going to be a week of hell for them boys.

Bethel got good athletes/ coaching?
to have 21 points against Phoebus at halftime? Absolutely not.

Easily worst half of Phoebus football since the Oscar Smith in 2021. It’s obvious what’s wrong right now and it’s the kids thought they would show up and Bethel would bow down. It has been very hard to keep kids 14-18 motivated to go hard every week. Their motivation to go hard hasn’t been the same since Highland Springs.

Bethel played the first half with a lot of hard running/hitting, guts and heart. Phoebus just got their first lead 28-21 at 10:40 of the 3rd.
Would u agree that was worst half you’ve seen out of Phoebus this entire 39 game run?

Yes. I have not seen them play this bad of defense in forever. 2 first quarter touchdowns! No. 2 legit first quarter touchdowns. No flukes. I don't recall.

After winning their first state title since 1992 during the first half against Phoebus, the Bethel Bruins have fallen behind 42-21 at 8:06 in he 4th quarter.

Phoebus Defense has awakened. A Bethel receiver is down on the field. Sending up prayers for the young man as was hit extremely hard. The hit sent the crowd into a frenzy. A personal foul was called on Phantoms.

Phoebus D. 40 yard rumble INT Pick 6. QB had the ball slip out of his hands and into the arms of a Phantom. 7:08 4th qtr. 49-21.

35-0 in the second half

Now that’s Phoebus football. I doubt we have another mental lapse rest of the way now. Hampton is on the clock. Time to get those paper crabs scattered around the hallways.

Good win. Can’t lie when I first saw this post part of me really wanted Bethel to pull it out, not for any animosity towards pheobus but to be an example: Any team can win at any time against any team. Doesn’t matter on paper who should win what game, you still have to go out there and play the game.

What this game proves is that Great teams can always regroup at any point in a game, never get defeated.

Phoebus seems to just have that gritty mentality despite being all that and more on paper. Love to see it.
Respect. My phone hasn’t never rang as much as it did in the first half of this game. My entire phone book, even my mom, called me to add their 2 cents.

If you had the daunting task of coaching against Pheobus right now, what would be your game plan.

Obviously Pheobus had crazy atheletes and size. I went to the state game and saw that, but on another hand, it’s not like all of them are fbs or fcs recruits. Some of them are just great high school ball players.

That being said, I feel like they could be vulnerable against a similarly athletic team, but it seems like even squads that should be evenly matched athletically just don’t have what it takes.

I wonder, as someone who is extremely aware of Pheobus football, what you would tell a group of young men about to play them and how you would scheme against them in an ideal scenario where you could install any scheme.
As I Phoebus I would keep my mouth shut 😀 But no seriously, play the 4th quarter like it is your last. You have to play all 4 quarters, going harder as each quarter passes, especially after halftime. But I am not sharing the scheme I would use. Ask Phoebus Fan. 🤐

It’s going to take a good group of kids that are focused and a coaching staff with a real game plan. I know Phoebus’ weaknesses but I’d never say it online. Holla at me in December.
