That's what they posted on their Twitter page. Can't wait to hear from a Madison fan, how could that happen?
It is interesting considering they have been playing ok lately. The win against Central was big and they played well vs George Mason.

Not really. Their offense is non existent. Touch the ball shoot the ball Since Rhodes is not running things the discipline has disappeared. Still hard to believe that this team was 26-3 last year and returned 3 starters including all state player Swink but couldn’t score a single point in a half?!

Swink doesn’t get enough touches and the offense hasn’t adapted to what they have this year compared to last
That is what I mean about discipline. Swink should get more shots. Last year they got after teams on defense. Just ask RE Lee Iin the region championship. This year defense has been replaced with lethargy. Didn’t travel down to WA last night but my buddy texted me from there saying no defense or discipline. Again.
That would be an interesting thread all it's own... how bad would some teams be if they lost their best player. Take McClung off of Gate City, Vaughn off of Lee and so on. How many teams are an injury away from going from top 10 to dropping out of sight?
He is still the JV coach and sits on the Varsity bench but is not nearly as involved or so it seems. Probably has to do with him being hired to be the football coach.
Gate City would still be top 10 without McClung. Not number 1 obviously, but definitely not below 10th. Ervin and Dean are pretty dang good as well.
Ervin is a ballplayer for sure, we played against him last year in AAU with Team Loaded. Haven't seen Dean yet. I still think it would be surprising how the dynamic of the team would change, especially for a team like Gate City and missing a elite player like McClung. Hopefully we won't have to find out, nobody likes injuries.
