Boys Soccer- Rappahannock and Middlesex advance to States.

Rappahannock Boys Soccer defeated Northampton 5-3 (it was either 4-1 or 5-1 at the half).

Northampton lost their composure and got a couple reds at the end.

This was not the Northampton of old under the great Coach Gorman. He would have never allowed such a display.

Middlesex won at West Point 2-1 tonight in OT.

Middlesex and Rappahannock both advance to states and will play in Warsaw for the Region Title.

I am happy for both teams. I will certainly pull for the Raiders as our NND representative.

I also liked the class of the Middlesex folks who defeated my Northumberland boys in the Region Q's 4-3 also in OT. NHS had the led 3-2 until the very end of regulation.

The only 1A teams to even come close to defeating Rapp besides Northampton this season were Middlesex (1-2) and Northumberland (0-1).

In the West Galax will play George Wythe and Auburn will play Covington tonight. I still feel Galax and Auburn will be coming out of Region C. Region D has no bracket posted...no idea on that one.

Region C went as expected. Galax and Auburn will play tomorrow in the final. Region D I have no idea about. My guess would be Patrick Henry- Glade Springs is in there.
