I don't know what to say about this game.

Floyd with a furious 10-0 rally in the last 2 minutes of the game to take the lead 50-48, only to see Virginia score at the buzzer to tie the game.

Then, Floyd took a 5 point lead when all heck broke loose in the game - technical foul - players/coaches on the court - police/enforcement on the court.

Game was called with 51 seconds left...

NFHS has it all. Call had VH out of bounds. No clue if it was bad call from the angle. VH got a tech. Players wouldn’t stop talking to ref. Player got a tech and gave double bird. A fan came on the court and ran at the refs. Had to be restrained.

Bad call or not, shameful way to go out.

Sometimes when folks run their mouth and are never called on it, it’s a hard pill to swallow when you meet up with someone who’s not going to put up with your antics, you can’t handle it and emotions get the better of you, hypothetically speaking!

Floyd County handled the situation well. The coaches sent the players to the locker room. The admin got on the microphone and told the home fans to stay put until the coast was clear, even held them to make sure the parking lot was safe. First class bunch up there.

As for V High.....smh

I don't have a dog in this fight but all I can say is that I have been watching high school sports for longer than most of you have been alive, and I have seen and heard more unbelievable behavior within the last year or two than I did all the years before that put together. If something is not done to control fan behavior on a consistent basis, someone will actually get killed during a game.

I totally understand where you're coming from. We had an extremely bad altercation in the Martinsville/ GW Danville game around 2015/16 season. I mean the Dawghouse was like a WWE Royal Rumble. I agree that something needs to be done.

Honestly, what adult in their right mind thinks it’s a good idea to storm the court & go after the refs while the game is still going on nonetheless. You can see the clip on Tim Hayes’ Twitter. No wonder there’s a shortage of refs.

Did yall see the Hopewell player sucker punch the James Monroe player last night? Happened pretty late in the game. Darn right sad. The JM player got in the girl’s face, yelling and clapping, after she hit the shot and the Hopewell girl just hit her.. Both deserve suspensions for their actions.

The only other time this season I seen a fan run on to the court to go after a referee was when a Graham fan did it during their game vs. Tri-Cities Christian. This was after a Graham player shoved a Tri-Cities player to the floor and a scrum ensued. Police officers and administrators did a good job of removing the fan and separating the players that day too.

Adults acting poorly, but what amazes me in modern times is the behavior of the athletes as well. In the video you can see where at least one player is pushing and "bowing" up to what looks like an administrator of law enforcement. Seeing it more and more where young adults, and I use the term adult loosely, have absolutely zero respect for an adult, administrator, or law enforcement. The sad part is that they know the consequences will be minimal.

Taunting has become something else that is out of control. Not that many years ago, flags, techs, and ejections would happen due to taunting. Now it is overlooked on many occasions.

The girl punched the opponent and then was able to go sit on the bench without an adult even going over to her for several moments. She is then seen taunting the crowd as well. Also audible is the fact that spectators are celebrating the punch. In my opinion, there should be a suspension from school and charges pressed.

That is a failure from literally, not figuratively, every angle.

1) Running your mouth in a blowout is low rent garbage. You're not the next Diana Taurasi, run back to defense and keep your mouth shut.

2) If you don't want to feel humiliated, play better defense instead of letting her blow by you and embarrass you and then make you look like trash when all you can do is ball a fist up and swing. If that's the best of her decision making, she's going to either have an incredibly short life or a very long, miserable life.

3) Refs did nothing before this and, from what I read, nothing after this either. There is no other way this should have ended than with an ejection. They didn't even tee up anyone. This had clearly been coming to a boil all game. Reassign every ref in this game.

4) Coaches just let their teams act like this and don't care. Starts and ends with them, period. Better leaders create better players on and off the court.

5) School administrators should have removed the attacker immediately. You and everyone in the room know that girl is getting suspended. If the refs and coaches don't have the sense God gave a goose you don't also have to look foolish. You tell her to get up and hit the showers or go get on the bus.

That is a top to bottom embarrassment. Every child and adult in this video failed miserably.

Do you know they did nothing? I would assume both players were disqualified for fighting. If so, add a foul to both teams foul count and play from point of interruption.

Until someone has a game report, the film shows above was done.

Agreed the officials should have requested the player be taken to the lockeroom by an adult.

I did see where two women talked to the girl that threw the punch. If I were a betting man, I would say it was her mother and grandmother.

Different thread, poster was at the game and said no fouls were called.

e: someone has since updated that both were later ejected so I'll retract my criticism on that point.
