@EastRockHoops (25-3) is set to take on @GoochlandBBall (23-3) in the @VHSL_ Class 2 boys basketball semifinals

This is the first-ever state semifinal appearance for either team. East Rockingham is making its first state tournament appearance in school history while Goochland lost to Central in last year's VHSL Class 2 quarterfinals.

Starters for East Rockingham: Griffin Morris, Collin Wigley, Tyler Nickel, Tyce McNair, Dalton Jefferson. Goochland: Deion Harwood, Isaiah Matovu, James Bell, Quincy Snead, Kameron Holman.

313 left in the 3rd, @GoochlandBBall slashed the lead to 6 but East Rockingham stretches it back out to 48-34

The duo of Tyce McNair and Collin Wigley is stepping up for East Rock, which is on a 13-4 run and now leads Goochland 48-34. 3Q 3:13.

This one is starting to get out of hand as Dalton Jefferson hits a 3 to make it a 62-38 East Rock lead over Goochland. 4Q 5:11.

Eagles put on dominating display from start to finish to advance to their first-ever state championship game, where they’ll take on Radford or Gate City on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at VCU’s Siegel Center in Richmond.

Goochland cut the score to 35-30 a couple minutes into the 3rd quarter, but McNair and Wigley led the Eagles on a 20-8 run to finish the quarter. Jefferson and Nickel scored 14 of the 16 fourth quarter points before East Rock cleared the bench.

Jefferson 23, McNair and Nickel 17, and Wigley 9 points led East Rockingham. Harwood, Snead, and Holman scored 46 of Goochland's 52 points.

I would guess ER forgot to show up and the best version of Lee came to play. May have been the best thing that could have happened to East Rock. They seem to be a well oiled machine now.
