This is probably one of Dan River's best senior classes they've had. To lose in football and basketball would be a very disappointing end.

What about that ole midget in the room thing? Like I wrote earlier a week or so ago, the Giles and Martinsville game was TO CLOSE compared to the Graham and Giles game. Not that Graham is Martinsville, but my point was....something is a bit off or wrong COMPARED to where Martinsville has been. That doesn't mean Martinsville isn't a beast, but they just simply do not seem to be quite as good this year as they have been. With that written, Dan River and Chatham both appear to be scary, scary good.

Lucus, that biggest midget thing was started by G-Man many years ago and was an inside joke between Mayberry and him. No one on here ever said the Dogs were going to win another state championship, this team had flaws and we all knew it. We've seen 15 championship teams and a bunch more make it deep in the tourney so we have no illusions on what is a championship team. This wasnt one of them. They played hard all year, won some games they shouldnt have, and just ran out of gas at the end of the year. Nothing more nothing less.

I agree with hrsepasture1. I thought we had a deep run in the tournament in us but winning it was a different story. Having a Vonnte Holland was a big advantage for which noone had an answer for him. I think the Dawgs got as much as possible out of this team. We here at Martinsville are kinda spoiled. With us, it's championship or bust. We get no thrill from District or Conference championships. When one comes to the Dawghouse, all that's seen is state banners, nothing else. Those kids have nothing to hang there heads over. They've given out more butt kickings than they have taken. Dawgs will be back, rest assure of that.
