On paper it appears to be ground game vs. passing game. Brookville has talent at all the skill positions and can score quickly. The line struggled last week against a very strong Heritage front. The Pioneers without their starting QB threw the ball 4 times all game. Rustburg features a power running attack, and will have a ground and pound offense. They do have depth issues with several guys playing both ways. When they have brought in the guys from the bench they have played very well, and more playing time will help the starters play at a high level through 4 quarters. The Rustburg passing game is not in sync, the QB has accuracy issues and the receivers are erratic. The game could hinge on weather. The forecast for rain could favor the running team, but I would not count out the potent offense of Brookville. It should be a great Seminole game, but my feeling is Brookville will have to much firepower for the Devil defense.

I can agree with that assessment of the game. It's never a good thing when your Qb is also one of your best Lbs. Rustburg does have a lot of kids going both ways and if the game is close in 4th quarter it will probably come into play. I think you over looked their defense. They can get after the qb and have on of the best cover corners in the area in Dixon. I think these boys are hungry and are out to prove the critics wrong. Rustburg stops Brookville late to win game 26-21.

Another rainy game between the two just like last year... I didn't realize the difference in the combined records of the team's they've both faced until just now though. But rustburg me defense has improved and the run game is very potent. I am suspect of their pass defense, especially over the middle of the field. should be good to watch, I'm picking Rustburg 28-24

Looks like everywhere will be a rainy game in the local area of Roanoke and Lynchburg area but for this game, I also think that rustburg's defense backs need to have a good game if they want a chance to win but weather will play a factor in this game im taking Brookville 28-21

It's very hard for receivers to get in and out of cuts in bad field conditions and pretty hard to be accurate with a wet ball and Rustburg definitely has no problem stopping the run... Brookville will HAVE to complete passes all night to win. I don't see them being able to pound it all night.... I would go but it's a nightmare getting in and out of Rustburg for a big game and rain isn't something I want to spend my Friday night standing in. I'll follow the updates though.

Terrible face mask call goes against Rustburg after they had stopped brookville at the 5 from scoring. Brookville scores on the untimed down. 22-12 Rustburg at the half. We will see what adjustments each team makes at half. Brookville couldn't stop the run in the 1st half. Brookville might have figured something out on that last drive. Hadn't moved the ball very well until that last drive. Anybodies game still

Great game minus a bad call should've been 29-0 if you make that tackle on KR. Great win for Rustburg, should silence some critics for now. Will be interesting to see how Brookville responds next week after dropping two straight to rivals.

Rustburg dominated this game from start to finish. Stat line shouldn't be close. Game should have been 29-0. Brookville in my opinion might not win another game. I was not impressed at all. Could have been wet conditions but I don't think that was it. Brookville loaded the box all night and still couldn't stop the run. Great game Devils huge win.

Bees are too weak upfront on both sides of the ball and it's
starting to show against Seminole teams.Good thing their
non district schedule was so weak because they may lose
out the rest of the way.

I picked Rustburg to win, based on the fact that Bees blew a 17-0 halftime lead vs Heritage and lost. I think that let the air out of Bees' balloon. I like Brookville more than any Seminole team, other than LCA, but I think they struggle rest of way.

After watching the game again this is what I am thinking. The Brookville line is their Achilles heel. It got exposed two weeks in a row and will have even less success this week with a big Amherst team coming into town. The Skill players will give them a chance in the last three games. Liberty, JF and Glass

In terms of Rustburg I have to give them credit. They are playing tough despite playing a lot of ironman. They did minimize snaps for some players last week and it showed in the 4th q. I still think they need one more lineman in the rotation to keep these guys fresher longer. They definitely have showed some power running football. I have even heard a rumor that they will be coming with new uniforms for the homecoming game in two weeks. They have a beatable JF team on the road this week. If they make some small adjustments they should be in good shape to leave with another big win

Hopefully they get black or grey unis, we tried to get em several years back but the coach was more concerned with running the program into the ground. Lol I think Rustburg should have no problem winning at JF as they usually fair well against them, they played them down to the last possession last year and only lost because of a fumble on the 5; scoring would have won that game and messed up their perfect season. Another rivalry game as well, should be a great turnout at JF.

As for the rest of the season Amherst looks like the only REAL threat but I do think that Rustburg has the d line and overall speed to at least make it interesting. I'm thinking they should be sitting on top of 3A west right now as they were #2 going into last week combined with #1 SR losing as well.

I don't really see anybody giving Amherst to much trouble in the Seminole. They have to many weapons and freakish athletes. I do think Rustburg losses 2 more games this season Amherst and I think Heritage could be a really tough game for them. Hopefully they can get a home game in the playoffs with 2 losses

I agree that Amherst is on another level. Big line, talented skill players. They will be a making a serious run at a undefeated season

Heritage losing Anderson really makes them one dimensional. But they have talent to hang with anyone.
If Rustburg loses the games you mentioned they would have 3 losses, but should have enough points for at least one home game

If Rustburg only loses to Amherst though I see em going pretty far in 3A west, Amherst will probably go undefeated but Appo will give them a good game. Either way the points they get from both teams should give them a nice home field advantage throughout the first couple rounds. It's been about 15 years since they've last had a home playoff game.

Speaking on heritage though, they seemed about evenly matched with Brookville with out their QB but being only able to run won't help them against Rustburg. I won't make that game but I will be going to see them play JF Friday night. Should be a good measure to see how well they handle a tough road game.

I sure would like to Abingdon in the 1st round. We owe them big time after that hose job we got at their place last year.

I just see Rustburg losing 1 more game other than to Amherst. Seminole is tough and other than Amherst everybody is fairly even and can get beat on any night. I would still think with 3 losses and their schedule 2 home playoff games should be a reality.

I Believe Rustburg is back to contending for a few years got a lot good young players coming through the program. That is if all players stick together make grades and don't get recruited away.
